Chastleton House. A Jacobean gem with a charming, informal feel compared to other stately homes. A renaissance architecture fan myself, I like its clear order, the prominent cornerstones and its unusual front levels. The house is now run by the #nationaltrust who preserve it as original as possible.
So apparently this day last year we were at Nymans gardens, one of my favourite National Trust properties. The sun was out, daffodils and blossoms were blooming and it was Spring. Even took a picture of my girl with the flowers. Today we have a snowman in the garden and it's blowing a gale ⛄❄ BUT Spring is on it's way and I remain optimistic 😊
Freedom is not something that can be bought, it’s a choice. You decide if you’re prepared to make the changes in your life to make it possible. There’s a lot of misconceptions about the cost of vanlife & a weird notion that only those with a privileged background can make it happen. The reality is this is one of the cheapest ways to exist, I think the biggest challenge is breaking free from traditional work structures and learning how to earn on the road....which is actually pretty easy. I’m working on some YouTube videos about life on the road, so hopefully that’ll answer some of your questions. #vanlife
Continuing with our Arts & Crafts series, we take a look at the National Trust property Cragside. It was created by three remarkable Victorians - its owners, William & Margaret Armstrong, and their architect, Richard Norman Shaw. Cragside is an example of Shaw's Tudor revival style. Have you visited this impressive building? Visit the National Trust website to find out more about Cragside |Link in their Bio|
The Barnsley family are considered to be one of the most significant & influential of all the Arts & Crafts furniture designers. At the Edward Barnsley Workshop, we strive to keep the ideals of the Arts & Crafts movement alive. @ntcragside
Day 19 of #marchmeetthemaker - "Couldn't do without". My family and the countryside! When I get those inevitable slow sale days and lack of inspiration my family keep me grounded and remind me why I do what I do and how lucky I am - and a quick few hours outside refresh my inspiration batteries ❤
