One year ago today I taught my first very own yoga class in my converted living room, a space we created for people to feel and connect and for me to practice and share what I love ✨What a magic year it's been.. teaching people of all ages, passions, views, personalities, goals and limitations. I've learnt more than I could ever imagine about myself, my own strengths, my own fears, and am forever grateful to each of my students who teach me something every single class. They teach me how to show up, how to hold a space, how to listen and feel beyond my own body, how to speak without words and to laugh and lighten up when life feels heavy ✨ I love what I do, I am grateful for it all; the experiences, the people that have been presented, the places I've been and the opportunities that continue to unfold ✨ Beyond excited for the next year on this journey and all the years to follow ✨
Walked barefoot on rocks today. Dipped my feet in the river. Watched the water rush down the rocks from one natural pool to another, creating that meditative waterfall sounds. Climbed some rocks and mountains. Meditated for a few minutes in perfect stillness. I just let the nature and all the elements wash the commotion of the new moon and my upcoming yoga training and organization and all the stress and emotions and confusion, wash them away. I do not need them anymore. Instead, I embraced peace within, heart to heart connection, and wisdom. Love and light. It’s all we really need.

The Prana Mudra is single of the most vital mudras as it helps to turn on the inactive energy in the body.
Prana means ‘energy’ or life. Prana vayu is extremely important vayu. Prana mudra excites the root chakra, that makes vibration plus heat, which awakens and energize the body. After what felt like a very successful meditation (whatever that means) yesterday, I was really looking forward to today’s meditation but found it difficult. One thought after the other, hardly even related to each other, came to mind in a very distracting way. I was able to focus back on the breath almost every time, and quickly, but the sense of distance from myself, of observing myself, was nowhere near as strong as yesterday. This is okay I’ve decided. Progress never happens in a consistently liner fashion. Just as there are poor days in the gym and at the writing desk, there are poor days in the meditation chair. The key, as with everything in my experience, is repetition. The sheer, blinkered will to go back to the task, day after day, to perform rep after rep, all expectations and results aside. Progression will come from that, though it may be on drip feed and hard to notice from one session (or month or year) to the next. The time will come though, with consistent effort, when even the poorer sessions are significantly better than they were months or years ago. And I guess that’s why today’s ‘poor’ meditation has left me feeling positive. This poor session of rolling thoughts was actually a great session in terms of how quickly I became aware of my wandering mind each time, and realigned. I would have considered this a sudden spike in skill, if I’d experience it only a few years ago.
