in fact, the more “ab workouts” you do, the more fatigued your abs get and usually the workouts your doing arnt accessing the layers you need to get to in order to see results 🤷🏼♀️ In fact, some of the most popular “abdominal workouts” are actually working your hip flexors (think: the area near your hip bones. Stretching!) •
Don’t fall into the “more reps the better” rule for your core. Your abdominals need specific and guided care to be there in the right way for the rest of your muscles and body!
If your holding your breath while doing workouts, the bottom line is you won’t see the results you want in your core and, quite frankly, in any muscles your working. Breath THROUGH your entire progression of an exercise to benefit the way your hoping. Does that sound hard or even impossible?? It’s an easy fix that just takes some intentional work to understand how to maximize your results by working your core and NOT holding your breath 🦄🦄🦄🦄

All too often women are told "just how it is" after kids, which doesn't even give us motivation to LOOK for a solution to problems we face after kids. •
Peeing with sneezing, jumping, or laughing is NOT normal. You DONT have to live with that, and you are 100% capable of changing this embarrassing problem by focusing on correctly contracting and relaxing your pelvic floor, connecting your pelvic floor to your abdominals, and doing intentional exercises geared toward strengthening these internal muscles! #empowermomsmovement
I often wonder how i will influence my son. My daughters... that's easy. i want them to see that i am active and strong, patient and present, and that my habits influence them to do the same. But what about Bennett? Will he want to do what i do? Will he look up to me like my girls do? Or will he naturally look up to Ethan more? •
So far, he is favoring Ethan but maybe i can get him into some yoga flows with me 😂😏
I guess we will figure it out with time, but i sure do love being a boy mom 🙌🏼❤️

We rely on our core a lot. Truly... everything from balance, to posture, to moving from laying to sitting up. We may think our every day activities are totally harmless but the truth is that you only workout for maybe 10% of your day. The other 90% you have to cue your body to move correctly and also keep it safe. It's up to us to educate ourselves! •
Next time you get up from laying instead of going straight up (a lot of times seeing a cone shape on your stomach 😰) try these steps:
roll to your side and prop yourself up with your arm. Extend your arm so your side is off the ground, and flip your legs under. Not only did you keep your sensitive muscles safe but if you use the correct breathing and abdominal pulling
do you know where your deep core muscles are? •
Do you know that crunches and other traditional ab workouts don't even reach your deep core? At best, they squish your ribs together and allow you to "feel sore" in all the wrong places ☠️
If you don't reach your deep abs, or even know HOW to reach them, your never gonna see results.
The transverse abs are your key to connecting to your entire core and seeing a toned, strong, functional core ❤️

What's cool is that my kiddos literally could care less if i am "failing" in other ways. They are comfy and safe and digging the love i give them.

These last two weeks have been a struggle! Week before last, I did 21dfx, which I had no idea was an advanced workout program... So I about died that week. Lol and then last week I tried piyo.... Which just isn't for me.... So this week, I'm doing 22 min hard corps.... Today was day 1 and I loved it!!! Such a good workout! I had sweat pouring off me! Glad I found a program that is gonna be a good fit after doing my three rounds of 21df. :D
