“The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes, but in having new eyes.” - Marcel Proust
For me, mini-adventures are just as important as the longer ones. Last year we lived on the road for over 4 months and it was awesome!
However, when you’re juggling work and family it can be difficult to fit many longer overland trips in a year. Today we went on a mini-adventure from Noosa to Double Island Point and back inland through the Cooloola Section of Great Sandy National Park along Freshwater Track and Cooloola Way. Looking with new eyes at some familiar places. It was awesome!
What one-day, overnight or long weekend mini-adventures can you plan? We’re already planning ours for next weekend!
Another weekend another road trip. This time it's trying to snow while we're on our way to Gateshead for Glacier Games, I'm in the scaled comp tomorrow. Feeling a little underprepared after illness and holiday mean I've barely trained this month, and the rest of 2018 wasn't much better either! Goal is to have a good time with partner @jalilly85 who is supporting me getting 'proper' competition experience #roadtrip#alwaysdriving#miniadventure#teambloodsweatandbeers#trynewthings#dowhatscaresyou

You ever turn a corner and stop dead in your tracks? That happend to me today. When I saw this painting.. I don't know how to describe it.. I don't even know how long I stood completely consumed by it. It was like there was seriously an energy radiating out from within it. After however long, I sort of came to and quickly turned my head around and then I saw "Gutai" on the wall...... I literally just had a painting critique and my professor told me I need to check them out. After World War II, we had the abstract expressionism movement but we weren't the only ones working out shit through art after the war. So were the Japanese. They had the Gutai. I walked over to read the statement about this painting and the artist. As I was reading it a huge swarm of emotions came over me, I got the hugest smile, and my damn eyes started to tear up lol it hit me in the soul I think. I absolutely cannot wait to study and learn more about the Gutai now. Damn I love art. #gutai#japanese#art#wow#chicagoinstituteofart#powerful#energy#abstractart#emotion#connection#hitmeonawholedifferentlevel#inspired#motivated#artstudent#springbreak#miniadventure
