I’m starting to settle back in after a few days completely off 🎉 but I’m moving slow. I definitely did not hold back on indulging in whatever I wanted, so I’m feeling a bit more sluggish than usual. But I’m okay with a temporary lull because I know what makes me feel my best and how I can get back there, and most importantly, that a vacation is just that and returning to routine is comforting. After so many years of this whole dieting vs. fueling vs. nourishment stuff, I’m better able to choose what helps me feel good not just mentally, but physically, too. And that takes away the whole “can and can’t” eat/drink crap, and makes it more about what I “choose to and not to” eat/drink. •
When it comes to travel and social situations, I think it’s helpful to figure out the right balance that works for YOU, and most importantly, know your boundaries. This means getting to know your body and what it works well with, and what it doesn’t. If that means avoiding certain things, or not having any restrictions at all- as long as it works and doesn’t cause you to feel deprived or send you on a downward spiral that takes months to get out- then great. •
This is not meant to be preachy or make you feel bad about how you indulge or spend vacations. I’m just simply sharing my experience and some tips based off what I’ve learned. Plus, creatively, I’m just not feeling back to myself yet but wanted to touch base with you all so thanks for listening to me ramble and here’s a few pictures of some of the amazing food and drinks from the past weekend spent in Charleston. I don’t regret a single praline, biscuit, fried pickle, or bourbon (or maybe I regret like 1 or 2 😉). Now back to regularly scheduled programming...
WHAT IS THYROID DISEASE?
The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped gland in the neck. It produces hormones that influence critical processes in the body. When this gland isn’t functioning properly, it leads to thyroid disease, which may be known as hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism.
With hyperthyroidism, the thyroid produces too much of the thyroxine hormone, causing weight loss, a rapid heartbeat and sweating. If left untreated, this form of thyroid disease can lead to heart problems, osteoporosis and even vision loss.
Conversely, hypothyroidism occurs when the thyroid doesn’t produce enough critical hormones, causing fatigue, weight gain, and a constant feeling of being cold. If it’s not properly treated, hypothyroidism can lead to an enlarged thyroid gland, heart problems, mental health complications, infertility and birth defects.
In treating your thyroid disease at Unison, we won’t simply write you a prescription and send you on your way. We’ll figure out why your thyroid gland is unbalanced, and help you fix the underlying issue. We’ll figure out exactly what treatment regimen is most effective for your unique situation, so you can balance your thyroid gland and restore your optimal health. #integrativemedicine#unisonmedicine#thyroiddisease
“It is impossible to be both selfish and happy.”~ Joyce Meyer❤️🙏❤️
If you live your life as if everything is about you...you will be left with just that...just you🙏 Not everything is about you, directed at you or having to do with your situations. The world doesn’t revolve around your problems alone. Remember that other people have lives too.🙏
If you think this post or someone’s post is about you, truth is it probably isn’t, but you probably see yourself in it. Suggestion...don’t get upset with the mirror...fix the reflection✨🙏✨
For some reason selfish and self centered people glue on me like flies glue on shit 💩maybe I need to learn from them to be more selfish🤔 just like Hugh Hefner said “It’s good to be selfish. But not so self centered that you never listen to other people.”
I think it’s important to learn to take care of yourself n your needs n please yourself first cause you will be able to take care of everyone around you better; but I’m not sure about the whole selfish bullshit...it doesn’t work for me...I’m happy when I can help and make those around me happy n I have never been so big on pleasing myself endlessly n just doing me/what I want to do 24/7; I know I need to do that more to find balance cause it is all about balance in life❤️🙏❤️ Hump day wisdom🤪🔨🤣🔫
Do you ever struggle with trying to keep the here + now in the present, while still aiming for the "big picture"? How about with even figuring out what the "big picture" REALLY looks like, without driving yourself crazy?
What is your vision, your goals? Where are you MEANT to be? Are you any closer to making them reality?
I'd like to know - AND support you!
I've been doing a lot of inner-work lately (as always); and, what continuously comes up is sharing, holding space + supporting others as part of my path, in all aspects of holistic living - personally and professionally. I am creating more and more space (literally and figuratively) in practice to accommodate the opportunities to do exactly this for you - on a much more inclusive scale!
So, honestly, what is your vision + where would you like support?!
My kids sleep through the night, I sleep (peacefully!) though the night, I feel confident sending my kids to school knowing they won't catch every bug because oils are helping to support their immune systems, I got rid of a headache without taking advil, I can make my house smell so fresh & so clean without using harsh chemicals. I am so grateful for these little miracle bottles. ✨🌿

Health. Probably our most important and overlooked assets. I used to be the person that would always put my work or school work before how many hours of sleep I was getting and then wonder why I was feeling run down several times throughout the year. ✨
I’ve decided this year to make my health a priority by first, making sure that I give myself enough hours to sleep every night, or if that’s not possible, at least try to give myself time the following day to catch up on rest. Looking back, I realized that I probably had made my worst decisions and completely lost my filter when I was sleep deprived and not fully present. ✨
I’ve also been spending a half-hour every morning doing yoga before I start working every day. I still haven’t mastered working out every day, but I’m working on that. I’m also in the process of trying to go vegan. It has been a little harder than I initially expected (bc our country is so heavily reliant on the dairy industry). But I figure that instead of trying to make a total 180 and give up a week later, I would just slowly start replacing traditional milk, egg, or dairy products with healthier options like coconut yogurt or almond milk until it just becomes a natural part of my diet and lifestyle. ✨
Change doesn’t need to happen overnight. I’ve realized through personal experience that when I often try to make drastic changes too quickly, they often don’t last very long. But when you start incorporating one small habit or change into your life each day, these changes soon become daily habits, and you soon wonder how you lived without these habits all your life. ✨
Our health is our livelihood. Without our health, it is really hard to live life to the fullest and enjoy everything we’ve worked for and perform at our best.
I hope this inspires you to start making those subtle changes in your life. Never underestimate the value of your health and well-being. You are worth it!
Patanjali said, “the goal of all yoga is to experience life just as it is, without judgement, without distortion.”
For me, the yoga practices can be anything that helps me stay present. Lately, breathing exercises have help me stay present or at least when I’m practicing them.
What helps you stay present?

I've always loved to read. I'm definitely a reader. I also enjoy social media. From what I see, have read about so far and from what I'm observing from others is that a lot of time on social media doesn't benefit my brain much in a good way. Now I do follow accounts on here that share opinions that I value and leave a lot from. That's good. There's posts on here that stimulate my brain and get me thinking of another possible way to see things.
I also see the dark in it. The comparing of each other's looks, lives and such. It creates negative brain waves that create negative thoughts and results. I want to start challenging myself to only be on social media for sporadic moments that equal an hour a day. And most of that time, reading and looking at things that inspire me and provoke my thoughts.
I'm also listening to more Ted talks while working out so that I'm working out both my body and my mindset. Growth is the most addicting thing to me. And now that I have a grasp on self discipline I want to add more to be disciplined about. And keep it going. And again I don't ever strive for perfection. I don't believe in it. I believe in progress. Continuous progress. "The master always thinks like a beginner. They are constantly in learning mode"

Will it be day one or one day? Here are a few tips to get motivated:😎
1. Work in small chunks of time (like 20-30 minutes) and then give yourself a 5 minute self-care break. ⠀
2. Make a list of every task you can think of to accomplish your goal. From there, make a daily plan to accomplish 1-2 tasks from your list. ⠀
3. Create a clean and organized work environment. I recently read a study that showed that clutter can increase stress. ⠀
4. Share your ideas with others. This keeps you accountable. ⠀
5. Have specific time in your day dedicated to self-care (with no working!) where you can relax and unwind.

You might have noticed the joggers at the park and thought, “Wow, they make that look so easy,” and wondered if picking up a running regimen is the right choice for you. However, if you’re completely new to running it wouldn’t be advisable to lace up your sneakers and head out for quick half marathon. Perhaps the better choice would be to begin a Couch to 5K routine which introduces novice runners to the world of distance running. Simplification, at first glance, appears to be the antithesis of almost every western personal development process and training which advocates the expansion of knowledge and awareness with a view to gaining more. More is good and less is bad. You know you’re doing well if you have more knowledge, more stuff, more love, more awareness. Likewise, if you have less of anything then you’re failing.
