A flashback to the sunny summer in Stonehaven to celebrate #standrewsday - our national day of Scotland. Stonehaven Open Air Pool is resting over the winter (even though its warmed - its still a little too chilly up there to bob your head above water). It has opened May-September every year since it opened in 1934, most recently supported by Friends of the Pool, a great voluntary group who go above and beyond to keep their pool open and maintained year after year for the town and visitors.
One person I would love to have dinner with if I could is Marion Dorn (if they were alive!), although it may spoil my love for her work if I didn't like her! Pictured are her rug designs @claridgeshotel in the 1930s. From what I have read of her, she was incredibly entrepreneurial and managed to carve out business for her work by setting up her own design company in her name, which was quite unusual for a woman at the time. I have seen the rugs once a long time ago, but would love to go back again for a second 👀
Since my fracturing my arm, I have had a lot of enforced rest. On a youtube marathon I came across @jessieware 's new video which is filmed inside Eltham Palace, redesigned internally in the art deco style in 1934 by Seeley & Paget, commissioned by millionaires Stephen and Virginia Courtauld. It looks wonderful, one day I will get there! @historicengland

My exhibition in and around The Midland Morecambe is open from today, all day, everyday, until Sunday 22nd October. There are works situated on the ground floor and third floor of the hotel (enjoy the view!), as well as the right hand rotunda window (which is lit daily 6-9pm) and the promenade. There is an exhibition guide and map available at reception. This project has been made possible with support from @aceagrams @englishlakes with special thanks to @gfsmithpapers @artlabcps @evolutionprint @bigartandbanners Flyer design by @textbookstudio
The dreamy interior of @theraleighhotel Miami Beach. Out of all the interiors I accessed it was one of the best that had preserved its original fittings and features. I love that fabric curtain wall 💵🏊💛
It's the last day to see This House for Building @thetetley @t_barandkitchen - work from my residency in their studio earlier this year. It's also the last day of their #TetleyWeekender of performance art, music, food and drink.
This House for Building explored the architectural history of The Tetley, and the wider period of art and design during the buildings construction in 1931, focusing particularly on printed textiles and wallpaper.
