Great article on why #guthealthmatters here:
Or click the link in my bio 👆🏻😍 Synergy's #microbiome system is number one for gut health...researched, clinically proven and patent pending.
Everyday I have a shot of this to help my microbiome, which is inclusive of my gut bacteria. Cat did all the research and bought this version, which is from ‘the mother’; which is supposed to carry all the benefits we want. This is because it’s unpasteurised and has fermented, which means it could contain probiotics. Cloudy is the clue, and you might find some strands at the bottom of the bottle also.
What are those benefits? Good bacteria is what we are trying to promote. This helps keep the gut healthy, in turn the body and mind benefit.
The gut is sometimes referred to as the second brain. It has a large influence on how we are feeling, and poor gut health can lead to a host of physical and mental conditions. •
Has this helped me since doing it? Honestly, I can’t tell. But, it’s not going to do me any harm either. We shot it so that we don’t dilute it and drink it over a long time, which could have harmful effects on the enamel of our teeth.
Microbiome focus: Many medicines affect our gut bacteria, not just antibiotics
A host of drugs designed to target human cells, and not microbes, may be associated with microbiome composition changes, warn researchers from the the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Germany.
These include anti-diabetics, proton pump inhibitors, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and atypical antipsychotics, they say.
Writing in Nature, the team behind the study describe the full extent of the effects, which suggest that over a quarter (250 out of 923) non-antibiotic medications reduced the growth of at least one species of human gut bacteria in vitro.
Predictably, 78% of the antibacterial drugs examined were active in inhibiting numbers of one or more species. However, the proportion (27%) of non-antibiotic ‘human targeted drugs’ (HTDs) that were also found to be active was not anticipated, according to the scientists.
"The number of unrelated drugs that hit gut microbes as collateral damage was surprising," said study senior author Professor Peer Bork. "Especially since we show that the actual number is likely to be even higher. ”
What plans do you have for today? Ruger and I enjoyed a run/walk on this beautiful day. Need to keep working back up to mostly a run! Getting there one day at a time and keep pushing forward! 😊
Losing weight is never the body’s first priority. It may be your personal priority, but the body has its own agenda! 🤷🏼♀️ Fighting infection, keeping the heart and lungs going and managing blood pressure and circulation are always going to trump “weight loss” from the body’s point of view. 🤗
So how do we lose weight healthily without rebounding? You have to address the gut! 🔑✔️#guthealth
There is a bacteria in our gut that all of us have. It can affect almost every area of the body if it gets out of control. There are many symptoms , but symptoms don’t necessarily need to be OBVIOUS to mean an overgrowth is present.
This yeast/bacteria feeds on sugars, processed foods and alcohol so it will demand these things to keep itself fed. 🤭🍫 It is also a cause of the damaged gut lining. It disturbs our neurotransmitters, our metabolism, and makes us crave junk. Who knew your cravings weren’t entirely a “mindset” issue that you just need to muster up enough self-control over?! 💁🏼♀️ As the immune system deals with this bacteria, the toxic load causes the body to hold water. We hold water to dilute toxins in the blood, lymph, kidneys and colon. The more toxic you are, the more likely you are to hold water. This water weight affects A LOT more than your clothing size too… It’s one of the primary reasons for high blood pressure. If the blood contains more fluid than normal, it has to pump harder than normal. 🤨
Weight loss occurs naturally as the body gets healthier by killing the bacteria off, reducing inflammation, balancing hormones and blood sugars, making it easier to make better food choices. As a result you will have more energy and actually feel like working out.
There's science behind this... let's get to the root problem once and for all.
“People begin to cut this and that out of their diets. That might be helpful, but they're not going to apply to everybody. What if I like sugar and some carbs? You can't fit everybody into the same mold. Instead, teach specific principles.” – Brian St. Pierre of @precisionnutrition

🌾GLUTEN! A buzz word that ignites a lot of opinion, a lot of confusion, & has even been powerful enough to propel a health and lifestyle movement. But what is it about this controversial protein that sparks such passion in people - whether you’re adamant that it cannot cause health issues (beside celiac), or you think everyone should be on a gluten-free diet. Either way, gluten & it’s controversy is not going away any time soon. Thanks to continued scientific research, we are learning more about it’s affect on our health, adding to & proving it’s involvement in our health - specifically our microbiome (gut). So, Why does gluten cause irritation and inflammation in some people and not others? It’s more complex than this, but here’s the basics… the cells that line the gut are called enterocytes - under a microscope, these cells line up as hills and valleys in order to create more surface area, which then create little projections called villi (villi are damaged in celiac). Two main points about these gut cells: There are junctions, called Zonulin, that hold the cells together & are the gatekeeper to allow that space to open & close, allowing food particles, nutrients, pathogens and meds to pass through. These enterocytes are also constantly regenerating themselves. This turnover rate of cell regeneration changes depending on age, state of inflammation, diet & damage to the gut lining from antibiotics, processed foods, stress, nutritional deficiencies, chronic infection, etc. All of this physiologically changes the makeup of the villi, and when the villi are destroyed, it takes the gut that much longer to repair and heal itself. Essentially, gluten has the same affect on everyone, causing Zonulin to open the gate in the gut cell. Depending on the health of your gut, the level of inflammation, genetics, and general health, this opening will stay open longer than it should, allowing undigested food particles, pathogens and parasites to pass through. Ideally, in a healthy gut, those junctions should close right back up. In an unhealthy/inflamed gut, the junctions remain open. That’s why a GF diet could potentially make you feel better, allowing your gut to heal ✨
Dat off-label kimchi though! @cultured.guru, a Baton Rouge based company, is my favorite source of fermented vegetables. One of the owners has her degree in microbiology, so I have a great deal of trust in their products. As an added bonus, they’re delicious! #microbiome#guthealth#nutrition#local#delicious
Movie nights are made for popcorn and bubbles! Since we like making things, we decided to pop our own corn the other night, with a little turmeric, honey and coconut oil - needless to say, it won't last very long! Hope everyone has a great night ✨🎉✨
The things that heal me :) ✅1- gonna be honest- sometimes my smoothies are GROSS but I drink them anyway and think about how they are making me healthy! But this one was YUMMY! -4 scoops @vitalproteins raspberry collagen protein, 1 cup @califiafarms almond milk, ice, squeezed lemon, 4 strawberries and a handful of organic spinach 😊😊✅2-THIS BOWL of yumminess was perfection! -1/2 c dry oats, 1/4 whole flax seed I had soaked overnight, 1/4 c egg whites, 1/2 tsp honey, sprinkle Of cinnamon, microwave for one minute!! ✅3- duh, when I am near a beach even if I am working, I make myself take time to feel the sand, because I have to! 😍#beachwalks#probiotic#microbiome#hashimotos#pcos#aip#healthyskin#healthyfood#healthylifestyle
Heading into the weekend like, SHOTS, SHOTS, SHOTS 💃🏻
Ok seriously though, these Gut Shots by @farmhouseculture are my new favourite thing. 😍
Each shot is jam-packed with gut-friendly bacteria (10 billion of them, in fact) to support healthy digestive function. 🌿
Lactobacillus plantarum is one ‘lil bacteria strain you’ll find on the list, and it’s been shown in studies to help lower stress hormones, as well as increase serotonin—your “feel good” neurotransmitter. 🤓
Bottoms up! 😄 #happyfriday#friyayy#feelgoodfriday#gutshots#nerdalert
Antibiotics are a double-edged sword. Used properly, they can save us from dangerous bacterial infections, but overuse can lead to serious negative side-effects.

Lots of women LOVE ❤️ this product…and because of it, they no longer need the hormone the doctor had them on after female surgery!! Vitalbiome is a probiotic that has 8 strains of healthy bacteria that are clinically proven to help improve mood, immune system and help stabilize hormones.
It can be used in addition to Plexus Probio5 to enchance your gut health or take alone.
What's the difference between the two?
✔️Probio5 has digestive enzymes and antifungals that help get rid of yeast and bad bacteria so I would recommend continued use to keep the bad guys away. Most probiotics don't contain these powerful ingredients.
✔️Vitalbiome is a probiotic that has clinically proven strains of good bacteria that help with mood and immune system, plus more!
- Reduces feelings of stress & improves mood
- Helps reduce GI distress
- Stabilizes stress hormones & promotes relaxation
- Supports a healthy immune system
- Helps relieve bloating & bowel discomfort
It's amazing! There truly is something to your microbiome. 💗
FOOD THAT CAUSE BLOATING.
*Please note that I’m not recommending you cut out these foods. Please consult your doctor if you experience frequent bloating.
✌️My 2 cents- Personally, I found eliminating artificial sweeteners to be very helpful.
Experiment with it, but don’t expect it to always work for you.Everyone is different and should go in with the mindset that what works for someone might not work for them.
However, if it does, awesome😊
✅FODMAP stands for "Fermentable Oligo, Di, Mono-saccharides and Polyols."(1)
💡FODMAPs are tiny carbohydrates found in certain foods, including wheat and beans.
💡Studies show strong links between FODMAPs and digestive symptoms like gas, bloating, stomach pain, diarrhea and constipation.
Low-FODMAP diets can provide remarkable benefits for people with common digestive disorders.
🍎Fructose: A simple sugar found in many fruits, vegetables and added sugars.
🥛Lactose: A carbohydrate found in dairy products like milk.
🥐Fructans: Found in many foods, including gluten grains like wheat, spelt, rye and barley.
🥜Galactans: Found in large amounts in legumes.
🥤Polyols: Sugar alcohols like xylitol, sorbitol, maltitol and mannitol. They are found in some fruits and vegetables, and often used as sweeteners.
If you are having trouble with bloating, consult your doctor and then maybe try eliminating some of the foods containing FODMAPs for about 7-10 days and see if you feel better.

This is why I use a time restricted eating pattern where I only eat for an 8hr period daily and fast for the remaining 16 by eating from 1pm to 9pm. To be able to do this w/o being hungry we must eat a wide variety of fibrous foods to get all of our vitamins & minerals (to be nourished) and a variety of health fats because fat burns slowly and for long periods vs sugar & refined flour which burn like leaves or paper and require us to eat all day long to remain fueled. Many athletes are using fat as fuel instead of sugar to avoid bonking. Time restricted eating along with eating real, clean foods in their natural form is proving to be optimal to operate, heal and age successfully. #health#aging#healthyfats#food#diet#healthy#mindfulness#fiber#microbiome#awakened#timerestrictedeating#8hrwindow#antiinflammatory#happiness#healthylifestyle#onebodyforlife
Just about to start this book. 📚 After being diagnosed with a nasty gut bacteria last week and being loaded up on medication and generally feeling like shit, it’s time to go on a alkaline diet and sort things out and hopefully I can fix my messed up gut and start to feel normal again! 🧠 .
No carbs, no sugar, no dairy, no red meat etc just good clean foods, always organic, along with smart supplementation. I’ll post some meals and supps showing how I go about this as it’s not often I eat to lose fat... If you want to get lean or have gut issues then keep your eyes peeled 👀

Happy #nationalpuppyday ! 🐶 Did you know that you and your dog might share a microbiome?! 🐾
Studies showed that humans owning dogs had similar skin microbiomes to their own dogs. Having pets in the home may have beneficial effects on the gut microbiome of your children. Evidence demonstrates that early exposure of infants and young children to pets and siblings influences the development and diversity of the gut microbiome. Also, infants born into households with pets had gut microbiomes with increased amounts of two bacteria that are associated with lower rates of childhood allergic diseases and obesity.
SOOOOO THIS GUY ate a piece of his rope that was far too large. It passed yesterday, but got stuck on its way out the other end. So I'm left to pull it out, trying to remain calm and soothing, because naturally he's alarmed with no idea what's happening.
I can laugh about it now, but I embrace those situations because they are great for building up your good bugs which equals more robust immune system function. #GETOUTTAHERECHANGEOFSEASONCOLD I am ready 💪
Since it's #NationalPuppyDay give your pooch an extra squeeze today, and everyday, they are a great way to support your gut health!Thankfully for you it doesn't have to be a poop incident like this guy, even just returning from a walk (in nature is best!) is a great way to increase your exposure to healthy microbes!!!
Rudi is the epitome of living in the moment, and I love him for it!🐾🌱
"The free radical theory of aging states that we age because of free radical damage over time," Free radicals can damage DNA's instructional code, causing our new cells to grow incorrectly, leading to aging. 😮
Oxidative stress occurs when there are too many free radicals and too much cellular damage. It's associated with damage of proteins, lipids and nucleic acids.
Antioxidants 💪 keep free radicals in check. "Antioxidants are natural substances whose job is to clean up free radicals. Just like fiber cleans up waste products in the intestines, antioxidants clean up the free radical waste in the cells,"
Our body produces some antioxidants on its own, but an insufficient amount. Oxidative stress occurs when there is an imbalance of free radicals and antioxidants (too many free radicals and too few antioxidants)
Antioxidants can be acquired through diet. "Antioxidants are plentiful in fruits and vegetables, especially colorful fruits and vegetables," said Wright. "Some examples include berries, tomatoes, broccoli, spinach, nuts and green tea." 🥑🍇🍌🥒🍄🌶🍅
Hope to catch you on this side......Not the Flip Side 🤙
Nothing like sending someone your poop 💩 via priority mail 😱. I finally got around to it. 🙋🏽♀️Yesterday. I sent away for this kit several years ago after learning about the #americangutproject . The American Gut Project, is the world’s largest crowd-funded citizen science project in existence. Participants have an opportunity to learn about their microbes while contributing to the scientific effort to learn how things like lifestyle, origin and diet affect the human microbiome. I have a gut feeling this is going to be a really big deal and the future of medicine. Want to learn more? Visit americangut.org @ucsandiego

😱 Chronic stress can damage your gut and your guts intestinal lining.
You hear me say it all the time but I just can't stress it enough. Gut health is SO important!! Google anything you might be suffering from and gut health to see what pops up. You will be amazed!! I know I was.
So the truth is that I've always been on the chubby side. One of very few running the 80km #articultra#race or the #ecotrail Oslo weighing 100kg.(225 pounds) and completing the run. I've been given this package from #eureka and #staals called #Synergy#Microbiome#Purify to see if it works. Its supposed to restore a #healthy microbe culture in your body and thus also result in some weightloss. Its a 4 week program, and I'll be testing it. I have little #faith in quick fixes so im not sure this will have any effect, but since ive been given it #free of charge, i might as well test it. Looking forward to see if it has any effect.
