My mom had strawberries going bad... I couldn't have that shit so I went strawberry crazy.
💪Whole grain wheat flour 💪Rice flour 💪Baking soda
💪Strawberries && Water blended together (I suggest using a plant-based milk but I needed to run home to get some && I didn't feel like that bull)
💪Cut strawberries (I actually poured the batter in a pan, pressed the strawberries in the batter && took it from the stove top to the oven for a few minutes)
TOPPINGS: 💪Strawberries 💪Almond butter (sandwiched between the two pancakes)
💪Chocolate syrup (💪Water, 💪Coconut sugar, 💪Unsweetened Cocoa Powder, 💪Vanilla extract)
STRAWBERRY KIWI SMOOTHIE:
💪Pineapple Juice (just what came out of the bottom of the container I stored my cut pineapples in)
This food!! Detroit Vegan Soul was at V313, but they were swarmed and I believe sold out early. Stopped in at the Agnes St. location and thoroughly enjoyed everything about DVS. The Soul Platter: mac&cheese, smoked greens w/shitake, maple glazed yams w/raisins & pecans, black-eyed peas on rice topped with green onion (I LOVE green onions) and a corn muffin was fantastic! Seriously wanted to lick my plate, but I mustered up a speck of dignity and restraint (I know, a rare occasion indeed. So unlike me ; ) I never order German Chocolate cake because it’s not chocolatey enough to justify the sugar consumption ... so glad I went with my gut on this one. It was amazing. Made a special trip (yesterday) just to get this vegan shamrock shake (aka I thought about making one then the lazy bitch in me said "let's just go completely out of the way && buy one instead" #lazybitchforthewin )
Vegan. Cheese sauce. Yes lord!!!!! You can use this any place you'd use cheese sauce. Mac and cheese, Nachos.... Dipping any random thing you find in the fridge... The possibilities are endless.
It's a not super measured mixture of 5 potatoes, a couple hand fills of baby carrots, 2 onions, a couple cloves of garlic, 3 hand full of raw cashews. Boil that.
Go play the Sims for a while, forget you're cooking, panic and run to the kitchen. Everything is fine. Drain everything, save about a cup of the liquid, add to a blender, add in nooch (like way too much but you can't do anything about it now), garlic and onion powder, a little smoked paprika, a couple splashes of liquid smoke (or completely forget it until you're writing your instagram), salt and pepper. Blend that shit till its smooth.
I also added some jalapeño to the last bit in the blender and made essentially spicy nacho cheese.
it’s been a rough week and the only thing that keeps me going is making it to the gym every day and forgetting about life and just putting all my focus on myself. it’s become my escape and gets my mind off of everything else going on around me. Ever since seeing a naturopath I have felt infinitely better about my wellness journey and the foods I put in my body. It's like a weight has been lifted from my shoulders! I use to stress so much over what was right for my body and if what I was eating was enough.
It may sound silly, but being deep in the wellness world with all of these fad-diets and talk of macro and micro nutrients, it's enough to drive any already Looney lass insane 😜
