I dined at Roast yesterday for the first time, for #Detroit Restaurant Week—$39 for a 3-course menu which for me included the 🍎 salad, steak, and this for dessert, called The Bar. Everything was 👌👌👌 and I'll be back soon.
We escaped up north this weekend & it was so good for my soul. & I’m not saying that lightly... my soul literally needed the rest, the family time, the peacefulness of Michigan’s winter landscape, & some good laughs. Also, I want to note that I walked out onto the icy water & didn’t bust my butt... that’s a win. I hope you are all having a great weekend no matter what you are doing & that you are finding rest and peace no matter where you are. Sending you all the most peaceful @puremichigan vibes ✌🏼 #puremichigan

I miss two things as winter progresses: ease of movement (icy sidewalks and trails are no fun) and green. Ruminating on this grey, icy-sidewalk trail sent me into my archives seeking a rich verdant world. Looking for textures ferns, I instead stumbled across this unforgettable aurora display. This image was created in June 2015 after a glowing orange crescent moon set over Lake Michigan, and in between sweeping banks of fog rolling in off of the still cold waters. Tornadoes raged downstate while the northern lights danced gleefully over the dunes. Maybe it’s not warm grasses or full of leaves, but this green night lights my soul regardless. 💚
