I’m taking full advantage of the sun being out and having all the beautiful things!! Last week was a full on high meeting ALL the woolheads @edinyarnfest there was bound to be a crash!!! I feel like my pos Edinburgh slump is lifting and all the exciting things team Kitchen have planned can commence. Thank you to everyone who made our show great ✨ and all you guys online who couldn’t come but still cheered in the background I REALLY appreciate you x tag picture of source of info. @curioushandmade I have your shawl safe and as you can see am giving her love! We will be re-opening on line on Friday we have a good range of Merino silks to add so let’s start things about our sunshine knits 🌤
In this vintage suitcase I keep my current, or upcoming, projects. The green flowery cotton fabric, long neglected because I didn't think green would suit me, that I finally intended to be a skirt, but told me it wanted to be a dress instead. The softest silk, once brought to me by my mother-in-law from a trip to Indonesia, that stepped in and volunteered to be that skirt instead. The silver lining fabric, found a corner of my cabinet, that is just too pretty and fun not to use.
I try to finally sew up all the fabric treasures from my stash, which will take me a while, but these are the first steps. I decided I should not have more projects in the make than fit in that suitcase. .
But I am cheating already, because on my mannequin is stil my new coat in process. But that would have never fit in the suitcase anyway, even if it was on its own, so I figure that is ok.
So today I am going to be hand sewing the hem of the coat and tracing and cutting the silk for the skirt. And trying to neglect the pile of ironing that needs to be done. .
I’m new to the whole #MakeNine thing this year - what’s the deal with swapping patterns? I’ve put my Freya turtleneck in place of the Named Paola as they’re virtually identical. However the Freya dress and Coco funnel neck dress are only *similar* but I much prefer the fit of the Freya and plan to make more whereas I feel like I’d be making a Coco for the sake of it. Am I a horrible cheat? Does it matter? Anyone want to make a case for the Coco?
✅ 1. Named Clothing Paola (switched for @tillybuttons Freya from Stretch)
✳️ 2. @tillybuttons Coco (Freya pictured)
3. Boyfriend jeans - I’m thinking I might forego jeans altogether as I’ve got RTW pairs that fit brilliantly and it seems like a lot of effort 😬
4. @tillybuttons Rosa
5. @cocowawacrafts Marshmallow
6. @colettepatterns Moneta

✅ 8. @tillybuttons Mila

One is for my sister and the other is for my sister-in-law.
I made them wait so long.
Hope they like it.
A very productive evening of sewing to finish this #orladress bodice! (Semi) Fitted to perfection, french seamed the whole kit'n' kaboodle, mais oui. In reality it isn't exactly matching my skin tone, but late night lighting is a pain. This is my birthday dress (a tradition for this easter baby 🐰)- it's super comfortable and will get so much wear. Now, I had picked a silky pink jersey for a slip, because there are sheer areas to this fabric, but now I'm wondering about the amount of pink! Probably means it's bedtime. 😊 #momsewsatnight#memade#memadewardrobe2018#sewingdresses#sewist#sewersofinstagram
Kooky puffer fish version of the Mandy Boat Tee, using a 95 cm fabric remnant from Spotlight. Mods include Hemlock tee neckline (the original boat neckline is too high and chokey for me), my usual wide bicep adjustment for my guns, and shorter sleeves due to lack of fabric. Swipe to see my best ever neck band 👌
I’ve spent far too long in clothes that make me feel blah. So I whipped up these shorts ( the muslin for my more expensive fabric ) in between feeding and cuddling my sick babies. 😂 took me three days and burning some serious midnight oil where it’d usually be an afternoon. They both ‘helped’ as well 😍 I’m feeling all sorts of pleased. I’m a size difference from hips to waist in this pattern and managed to adjust the pattern perfectly first go. The only thing I’m not happy with is my execution of the in pocket zip. #memade#memadewardrobe#vintagevogue#1960s#craftlife#mumlife#twinmum#sewing#sewingperth
Today I'm wearing my new stripey jumper in the store. It's cold, rainy and quiet in Bowral but I'm very snug in this wool blend with a cup of tea brewing beside me. I made the pattern up as I went along and the fabric is a wide chunky knit that I still have for $55 per m. A lot of my very talented customers are hesitant to sew with fabrics like this but they are easy to work with and a garment like this can take as little as an hour to make all up. #knit#knitsewing#sew#wool#memade#memadeeveryday#fabric#create#make#stripe
Sorry such a dark pic on this rainy day... @sewhouse7 toaster sweater in navy merino from @wearethefabricstore ... its love! Great pattern and so wearable... have a few more of these planned #toastersweater2#sewdiy#memade
How many “to-makes” is too many? I made a list earlier this month and it’s 17 things long! I have most of the fabrics and patterns already, so I’m trying to prioritize those over buying new things...after grabbing this beautiful lawn for a #sukikimono and stretch twill for #sashatrousers of course (both fabrics are cat approved)
@stonemountainfabric had a birthday yesterday and all the presents were for me! new dresses and a new slip. my serger is all i have while the bernina is in the shop so the knit dresses will get stitched first. i didnt get enough of that rainbow for the vintage pattern i found so a return trip may be in order, or do i draft something new?
Day 2 of @spoonflower ‘s photo challenge: Current Project!
I’m currently working on a matching outfit for myself and @brianrechenmacher for Dapper Day at Disneyland! His shirt just needs finishing touches, my dress is still in 10000 pieces 😂😭
Fabric printed by Spoonflower of course!
