#fbf to 4 years ago today when I saw Battlecross for the first time with Protest the Hero and Night Verses back when Juanita's was still open (R.I.P.) and being blown away by how insane they were live. I still consider that one of the best sets I've ever seen. Not to mention it was cool to get a full band picture with them back when Shannon Lucas (far left) was drumming for them because he drummed on The Black Dahlia Murder's first few records and drummed on the "The Fall of Ideals" record by All That Remains, which is one of the greatest records of all-time 🤘 #goodtimes#battlecross#protestthehero#nightverses#allthatremains#metalcore#thrash#metal#melodicdeathmetal#timeflies

💐 It took two to summon the thunder
One to bring down the rain
Two to torn all asunder
One to suffer the pain
Two to crush dreams and wonders
One to lose everything
All once beautiful and sacred
Nothing but in vain 💐 (INSOMNIUM -One For Sorrow)
Sleep deprived as always™ also an old photo that I never shared until now.
1: You know that feeling like you've been given a new life and a new fire in your veins? That's kind of how I've felt over the past few days. A bit drained right now, but that's mostly because I've forced my body to work the hardest it has worked in a month and a half.
I suppose now would be a great time to mention that prior to hitting a low point,. I had planned on turning my blog into a blog for reviewing metal bands and albums of just about all genres (except hardcore crossover genres, of course). I figured that it would be a good idea since bands are always looking for press, I could use a little press for my YouTube channel (perhaps even including reviews and reaction videos into my YouTube schedule), and hey, the slim chance of getting free merch and free tickets would be well worth it.
The reason I bring this up is because I still plan to go ahead with this. Whenever I get around to it. Could be tomorrow, could be a month from now. But it definitely is a priority in my mind. --------------------------------------------------------------- 2: the band Amorphis released a new single today. Amorphis is, from what I've heard, primarily a progressive melodic death metal band. Similar to Insomnium or Omnium Gatherum, but a bit more on the progressive sounding side. This song, "The Bee" relies on death growls perhaps more than any other song of theirs I've heard (key phrase, "I've heard"). But even still, it is a fairly relaxing song. I wouldn't be surprised if you could fall asleep to it. ---------------------------------------------------------------- 3: The Absence released their new album, "A gift for the Obsessed" today. So far, it's a solid Melodeath record. "You can't bring me down" is a new take for them, definitely interesting, for sure. And that is as far as I have gotten on the album. Check it out!
