Even when I'm not doing slimming world I always keep a meal planner to make sure I don't over spend on our food shop and to avoid throwing unused food out! I'm also self admittedly a bit of a control freak so like to know what I'm making each day! I'm doing my first full food shop on Wednesday since rejoining slimming world so need to make sure I expand my food choices to give me a good variety of meals! Dinner tonight is a Thai style fish cake (196), some slightly burned but still delicious sweet potato (115) and cabbage and broccoli stir fried with garlic and ginger (60). Had a few questions recently about whether I eat carbs and the answer is yes I do. I do naturally eat less carbs because they tend to be calorie dense (and I like to eat as much as I possibly can within my calories 😈) but if there’s something I want then I will have it and count it. I’m babysitting tonight in a house that always has heaps of junk food so I’ve brought a little snack pack with me of things I can eat instead 😊➡️ 5 Maltesars, a Slimfast caramel bar, a Jaffa Cake and 2 Mikado sticks for 218 cals.

I’ll tell you this much...I know it sounds muggle of me but I’m starting to think these pills and potions don’t actually work. They aren’t as magical as Derek says they are.

I mean, what if it really does just boil down to hard work..patience..consistency. Doing all those things muggles do, like work out 3-5x/week for years and years...eat plenty of fruits, veggies, and lean protein while hitting your calories...get at least 6hrs of sleep every night (ideally more)....

8 oz dry pasta, cooked and drained according to directions
1/2 cup dry lentils, cooked according to directions
2 Roma tomatoes, diced
1 tsp chili paste
1 tsp chili powder
Black pepper to taste
Easy cheeze sauce (recipe below)

While cooking pasta and lentils, make cheeze sauce.  Also saute tomatoes with chili paste until they soften.  Combine pasta, lentils, cheeze sauce, tomatoes, and chili powder.  Adjust seasoning as desired.  Enjoy!

3/4 cup unsweetened almond milk
1/2 cup raw cashews
1/4 cup nutritional yeast 
1 tsp dijon mustard
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
Dash of smoked paprika

Combine all ingredients in a high speed blender until super smooth and creamy."

Today was a good day! To be honest, my weekend has been great thus far. I went to watch #themagicpill last night with @ketoandthesix although the movie referred to health benefits I already knew, the movie focused in on how we can heal ourselves by eating the right foods, and reducing the amount of pills and medications society takes. I love learning knew things and in this movie I still learned something knew. My take away: Agriculture. Go watch the movie to see what I'm talking about. .

As some of you may know, my journey started when I found out I had #candida and was the primary cause a myriad of issues I was experiencing: couldn't lose weight, inflammation in my face and stomach, digestive issues, bloating, not going to the bathroom, etc. .

For the past two years I've taken a different approach to how I eat. I used to eat like I was training to be a body builder: high carb high protein, low fat. This was the result of my issues above. I switched the focus to: eliminating sugar (as much as possible), reducing my carb intake (starchy carbs - simple carbs), and increasing my fats. YES!  I wrote #fats. .

I gave Day 38:Cardio Flow from #80dayobsession a wack today and got a great workout! The routine format is exactly like 21 DFX: The Challenge, being that it’s a pyramid style. The 80 Day Obsession routine was more challenging🤘🏼 I also did Tony Horton’s: Warrior Arms from BOD - 17 minutes of biceps and triceps.

Persze, az Insta tele van szebbnél szebb kajafotókkal, és megmondom őszintén én is szeretek plusz extra 3-5percet fordítani arra, hogy gusztusosan tálaljak, és ne csak a gyomornak, hanem a szemnek is kívánatos legyen az adott, egészséges étel, de lássuk be, sokszor így eszünk: deszkáról, minden “csicsa” nélkül.☺️💕
Nálam pl gluténmentes baguett sült ki🥖 (receptet még fejlesztem, de jó lesz ez, alakul!!!😍), amit natúr padlizsánkrémmel🍆 összekevert nagy doboznyi konzerv tonhallal🐟, és egy tál salátával🥗 ettem, amibe egy fél db almát🍎 is kockáztam -az édes íz miatt..😬 amúgy ennyitől nem lesz baja senkinek, de jah, aláírom, hogy nem kéne gyümölcs estére.🙄
Fehérje✅ jó szénhidrátok✅ rostok✅ nálam ez szokott lenni a vacsi.
Ha zsírosat ennék, nagyon rosszul lennék.🤦🏽‍♀️
A szénhidráttól jól alszom (oké, azért mint látjuk, nem fél kg fehérkenyeret ettem..😅), fehérje pedig MINDEN FŐÉTKEZÉSEMBEN van. Reggeliben, ebédben, vacsorában. De nem sok. (Vagyis én speciel ezt nem tartom soknak, de persze kinek mi a sok, mi a kevés..🤷🏽‍♀️)

I threw in some spinach at the end with quinoa to make it a balanced meal! SUPER easy and can we talk about the COLOR? When your parents come visit and they stop at Costco to pick you up a bulk pack of chicken breasts 😍 was gonna make lettuce wraps but the lettuce leaves I had were definitely too small so I just made a salad. Chicken, tomato, cucumber, orange pepper and romaine lettuce and 2tbsp of feta dressing. One change I've made since getting into fitness is measuring things. I never used to worry about serving size and I'm still pretty bad for that. However salad dressing is super calorie dense and I'm a lot more mindful of not just pouring half the bottle on😅

I was so envious that Ruby seemed to have “figured it out.” I cried to both of them... I had an awesome year of focusing on my health/fitness, yet I was still SO unhappy with myself and my current situation. Still wishing to just be the “old me” again.

I’m so proud of my seester for committing to this program. My mom and baby sister are doing it too. It’s completely overhauled their lifestyle... I’m in shock at what it’s done for them and what they’re capable of doing.... and I’m literally counting down the seconds before I can do it with them post-partum too!🖤

Up until December, nearly 12 years into marriage, I had never really meal planned and prepped and I’ve contributed very little to the meals that have been consumed in this house 🙈. Coming up with meal ideas was stressful which made cooking very unappealing and often times by the end of the week we were throwing away unused spoiled food that I had intentions of doing something with but never did. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I also struggled with knowing what to eat for my particular body so I was often tired, too hungry throughout periods of my day or too full from over eating, slowly gaining weight or struggling to loose it and get back down.  Maintaining weight was just a mystery to me.  And I was baffled at how I could spend so much money at the grocery store and buy so much food, yet when it was time to eat I’d open the fridge and I would having nothing to eat which left me always grabbing the same few quick/easy foods. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
The answer may seem pretty obvious to you but I just never made the connection that in order to having food available to eat I needed to have a plan (of what I was going to eat) and prepare the food (actually make the meals/sides/wash and cut the produce) and friends I’m happy to tell you that this has all changed after I started following a simple plan in December.

I started to realize that planning and prepping food doesn’t need to complicated or intimidating and there were a few key things that I put into action that made it all fall into place. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I also know now what my particular body needs on a daily basis so I am never left too hungry/full, I have maintained weight for almost two months without any guess work of if I should/shouldn’t have this or that.  I have more energy, leaned out and feel more confident and comfortable in my skin that I ever have before having children. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I share this not to boast but to be an encouragement to anyone who was feeling frustrated and stressed like I was, to know that help is available to you.  Knowing what to eat for your body to get to where you want to be doesn’t have to be a mystery and it doesn’t need to be complicated.  Reach out and ask me for help!! You’re worth the ask!!

Coming up with meal ideas was stressful which made cooking very unappealing and often times by the end of the week we were throwing away unused spoiled food that I had intentions of doing something with but never did. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I also struggled with knowing what to eat for my particular body so I was often tired, too hungry throughout periods of my day or too full from over eating, slowly gaining weight or struggling to loose it and get back down. Maintaining weight was just a mystery to me. And I was baffled at how I could spend so much money at the grocery store and buy so much food, yet when it was time to eat I’d open the fridge and I would having nothing to eat which left me always grabbing the same few quick/easy foods. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The answer may seem pretty obvious to you but I just never made the connection that in order to having food available to eat I needed to have a plan (of what I was going to eat) and prepare the food (actually make the meals/sides/wash and cut the produce) and friends I’m happy to tell you that this has all changed after I started following a simple plan in December. I started to realize that planning and prepping food doesn’t need to complicated or intimidating and there were a few key things that I put into action that made it all fall into place. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I also know now what my particular body needs on a daily basis so I am never left too hungry/full, I have maintained weight for almost two months without any guess work of if I should/shouldn’t have this or that. I have more energy, leaned out and feel more confident and comfortable in my skin that I ever have before having children. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I share this not to boast but to be an encouragement to anyone who was feeling frustrated and stressed like I was, to know that help is available to you.
