Floating shelves finished and ready for install. I was all set to use Sherwin Williams ProClassic enamel, but thanks to @ben_rustic_junction, I gave Valspar Cabinet Enamel a chance. Really happy with the way the paint sprayed. Just a little light edge sanding to reveal the under stain. @valsparpaint @gracopaintsprayers
Nothing exciting to show for today. Just upgraded our finishing room ventilation and did computer work so here is a nice photo of a wedding cake stand we made a few months ago. Going from chainsaw to cake stand was more of a challenge than I anticipated but it all worked out in the end.
The benefit of wood vs plastic.🌿 Wood dries all the way through and that significantly reduces the chance of any bacteria to thrive, while cracks and cuts in plastic retain moisture that may result in a convenient space for the bacteria to multiply.
Made from the leftovers of a few other projects. The body of the pot is the other half of the blank I used for the succulent pot, the lid is part of the blank that became the pencil sphere. And the finial is made from those crazy pencils I posted the other day.
Aïdho. Nos encanta dejar libertad a nuestros clientes, y en este caso amigos, para que dejen volar su creatividad y diseñar nuestras piezas. Espero que os guste este cabecero para cama de 150 cm (el tigre no está incluido) 🌲💙
For those who don’t know, these are mortise buttons, which are used to attach a table top to its base. It is a more traditional method and does a great top of keeping everything secured while allowing for wood movement throughout the year. These walnut buttons are for our personal modern/cottage style coffee table and matching side table.
Um, how is it that March will be here next week?! The way this year is already flying by is making me think a ton about intentionality and to really pursue becoming who I’ve always dreamed of being, not what others or society tells me I “should” be.
So grateful for people who support small businesses, dreamers and makers, like you all, @indieflea, @indiemarket (where I basically launched TCP), and now @armatureworks_tampa (which, by the way, has been restocked with new coasters, boards, and trays 😉)
Ps. Love you all.
Mitres, bevels, white oak. I dry fit this seven foot credenza to make sure all of the pieces fit, and figure out the glue up procedure. Now I can build the drawers, shelves and doors, and the rest of the structure! It's going to have some cool @blum_inc hardware later on too.
Finally digging through the piles of black walnut we had milled from the farm four years ago to build the furniture for the tasting room. All the tables, benches and the bar will be built from this wood. Can’t get more local than that! BIG thanks to Linscott Local Hardwoods in Milwaukee for taking on this project! #localwoodshop#collegefriends#mounthoreb#pickcider
Tonight, I sleep well. Like every goal I've ever make it feels like an eternity while I'm working on it, and then the day comes when I can't believe it's already over!
There will be both more photos and more stools in the future. At the moment, I've worn myself right out doing victory laps and now I must rest 😴
