There is a trending hashtag going around called #protecttranstroops . This enraged me. Let's look at this logically and factually, not emotionally and nonsensically.
Legit statistics and facts:
1. It costs much more to ship medication and hormonal prescriptions overseas for trans soldiers than the average soldier.
2. Men who identify as women get it a lot easier physically due to the fact that a lot of times they are not pushed physically due to the fact that they have male physicality and masculinity, but do women's exercises.
3. A person with asthma is not allowed into the Military due to the fact that they are not physically 100% capable, and they leave quietly. But Trans individuals aren't allowed into the Military due to the changes going on in their bodies, but they protest and push for policy change
4. If physically and mentally they are not pushed to their limit due to the fact they are trans, they will be looked down upon by their fellow soldiers because they have equal or greater status, but didn't put in the work. The other soldiers will not feel as if they "earned it". These are just a few that I came up with. Make sure you look at statistics and facts, don't act purely on emotion. -Ben
¡Pura vida! ¡Chaaaaauuuuuu!
Day 216: This picture is from Cuba. Today I went to my novel class walking with guilt. Luckily, I had read enough of the book in order to have a good conversation about the Venezuelan author’s book. I liked talking about the themes and the symbolism. Gustavo let us get out very early, so Brandon and I hung out together outside. I ran alone again, but I had a ball. I came back home, and I took a nap. When I woke up, I realized that I had missed the majority of yoga class that Cohen was giving. I showed up around the end of the class, but it was too late to participate. Matt, Cohen, and I walked to our house. We said goodbye to Matt, and we wished him a good time in Nicaragua. I wrote a one page essay for the Track IV class while I ate broccoli and hummus. What a night! Until next time! Pura vida! (I’m bad at fluffy paragraphs, don’t judge me :P)
Globs I love this person so much! It’s crazy how long we’ve been with each other :0 you’re my wifey, my companion, and my best friend. You’ve been there with me in this adventure we call life and we’ve helped each other grow as people. You’ve accepted me into your heart for all I am, and all I’m not. You showed me that in this world, full of hate and conflict, that there’s always a bright side to look forward to in the end of it all. I love you so much and I hope that we have many more years to look forward to.
JESUS LOVES ERRBODY!!! Also soz if you’re not religious, but I wanted to post this bc in my church there are some people trying to stop lgbt people from serving in the church. I’m actually on the leadership team agains the narrow minded people. Honestly I highly doubt that Jesus would’ve been rude to lgbt people tbh, anywho - are any of you guys religious and lgbt??- Gracie #lgbt#lgbtq#bisexual#pansexual#gay#lesbian#transgender
The more I prioritize my meditation practice the more I see the gifts in my life.
Yesterday I meditated and I got clear inspiration to get a kayak and take it out.
This is what transpired.
The most epic sunset above and crystal clear waters with coral reef below.
If you don’t meditate now, I highly encourage it.
And we will be teaching you how to do it at Magma in April. Just saying.
