Artist Talk coming up! 🙌 On Monday the first Artist Talk within ‘The Shape of Time’ will take place: Catherine Opie in conversation with Jasper Sharp. 👉 For ‘The Shape of Time’ two Santvoort portraits hang beside a group of three contemporary portraits by the acclaimed American photographer Catherine Opie. // Dirck Dircksz. Santvoort was among the most well-known and successful artists in Amsterdam in the first half of the seventeenth century. His own son was named Rembrandt, after the artist who had most strongly influenced his own painting style. // Isolating her subjects in a raking light against inky backgrounds, Catherine Opie is appropriating the visual language and theatre of Renaissance and Baroque portraiture. So, produced almost four centuries apart, the works engage one another in conversation. • Join us for the Artist Talk: Catherine Opie in conversation with Jasper Sharp, in English. Monday, 26 March, 7 pm. Limited Participation – please register upfront: email@example.com
