Training this year has been hard. Think there's been a number of factors.... weather, illness, mindset, spending hours at a time in a freezing cave with clients, then it's my turn. It's fair to say that the notion isn't always there!
To combat this I've changed my whole routine. Sessions last no more than 30mins (not including a warm up). Monday is a heavy push day, Friday a heavy pull day. Tues/Wed/Thurs are split into a 20min conditioning session in the morning - kettlebell complex AMRAP, bodyweight ladder, barbell complexes, etc. Then another in the afternoon before the group sessions.
Fat, fitness levels, strength, endurance, they don't if you're cold, tired, little bit sore.... they'll all start heading in the wrong direction if you even think about stopping. Sometimes you've just got to toughen the fuck up and find a way to make it work for you. Since changing things, strength and conditioning are both start to creep back up and I'm more where I want to be. Now to kick on to the next phase - Project Kratos!! 195kg deadlifts for reps will see me on my way. Beard could do with a shape up too.
