What inspired me above all else, was their story of how they got to where they are today, capping with a recent 1⭐️ Michelin achievement. Independently owned, with a small local crew trained from scratch cooking in a building that wasn’t ideal for a restaurant were only some challenges they faced and overcame, without resorting to overkill decors, nor gimmicky stuffs, nor splashy PR. Kudos to Chef Dan and Fay for keeping it real and staying the course of what makes you, you!
Work, life and health all kinda punched me quite hard in the gut at the same time.
I can't affect minimum 60 hrs of work right now, and starting in April I will have 7 weeks straight with no days off as I get certified to care for my brother. I've put on 15 lbs since August and I have absolutely no energy or motivation to do anything for ME, which includes exercise, which would obviously help me to reduce stress in a positive way instead of eating my feelings.
Does anyone have any ideas to get me going, like tracking or rewards (or winning lottery tickets) they can throw my way? How do YOU keep a balance of work, family, and life?
I plan on starting a pouch reset in the next few days, and doing a week of that. Hopefully I can do at least 30 min daily on the treadmill for time and increase my distance slowly so I don't die at Bloomsday. Goal is 90 oz of water a day. I make these goals weekly, but end up giving up almost immediately because everything else demands my time first.
Posting this for advice, encouragement and a bit of accountability. Maybe I will follow up daily with summary posts. Dunno. Maybe I'll vlog again. So I told my #goodfriend , #mentor , and #coworker about 6ish months ago that I was thinking about moving to #LongBeach . He was like dude! This is why you should make the move! He sold me on the idea and now here I am and I am loving every second of it!
Fast forward to yesterday... It was a pretty difficult day... A long string of them unfortunately. That day marks potentially the last time I will see a bunch of great people whom I have had a great privilege in knowing. I consider them my #family ! The ones that live closest to me I will probably see again, but the others... It's hard to say.
That day... yesterday... we did something #unconventional ... #Drunk chat over video. LOL! Mainly to just talk about what was going on in everyone's lives and soak in some #badnews ! It was actually pretty cool and also just kind of a great way to connect one last time. I am #hoping the #drunk video chats becomes a regular thing.
Circling back around and the reason for this post... We ended our #drunken video chat, I wandered the #LBC for some food (was #staving ), I watched the waves roll in, and I ran across this house (the pic above). A random but freaking #awesome house that brought a #smile to my face especially on a down kinda day. Saw this at Gospoda Eatery today in Kerang. About (bloody) right. Said to Trev today that we've been from Heathcote to Mallacoota to Bonang to Heathcote to Kerang and nearly back. And that's only in 6 weeks.
