Ran into these guys on the mountain. Talked for a while over a couple sodas and left to try and get it done in a different unit. Flash forward half the year and I recognized @sean1turner in a picture with every backcountry hunters idol, @cameronrhanes. Day 37/ Challenge Day 27- 2/18/2018
Okay, you guys already know about the weigh-in, but I still freaking PUMPED. Also, I got a nice shoutout from my online coach @chris_puck_33!
This has been the weirdest four weeks ever!! I’m starting to really love the process though! Each week I see the results, and good or bad, I find at least one thing to adjust for the next week. Ups and downs, highs and lows, but I feel reinvigorated for the next four weeks to finish this Challenge out STRONG!!! 💪🏻😁💪🏻
Motivation in the face of adversity can come from many different locations that are unexpected. More often than not it's that surprise that is wonderous rather than fear-inducing, and the challenge that comes along with it is inspiring rather than insurmountable. Look to your left, to your right, forwards and backwards and search every nook and cranny and crevice of your day-to-day existence and as long as you keeping your eyes peeled, you'll find Spectacular things in the seemingly mundane. I'll stop this rent for now because I still have to jump on this motivational bandwagon myself. But in the meantime I'll keep chanting that Mantra over and over in my head:
" Life, it doesn't get any easier... You just get better at it."
Great night of training with two guys l love like brothers, @13pacificwaves and @nickthetrainerdude. Kip has been putting in work...ran the mountain 4 days straight, weight lifted his butt off everyday and put hundreds of arrows thru his Hoyt. My "boot camp" was perfect, and because he's a beast he hammered it all with a great attitude. Thanks for enriching my life Kip. You're a friend anyone would be lucky to have. 02/18/18 Took a long time warming up and getting loose after 17hrs in the car this weekend. Squats + Chains, 6x3@195lbs + 100lbs in chains. These felt pretty good from how I felt at the beginning of my warm up. Followed by Deads 6x3@325lbs. Deads are finally back! These were easy peasy. Filmed odd number sets today. Conditioning is getting better too. Really cutting my rest time down between sets to only about 90 secs. 5 weeks out! Let’s go!! P.S some funny commentary on the last set of Deads by @jpttorque220!
Another beautiful week in California. Finished my second week of running 20 miles for the week. My long run was 8 miles and is the longest I have run in over 10 years! Got long week of studying for my part 1 board exams in two weeks and bumping up the mileage to 25 miles this week! #keephammering#CA#optoutside#running

I had a dream last night about the elk I arrowed and didn't recover .
Deffently a heavy weight on my shoulders that I havnt bin able to get rid of since September.
Always thinking what I could of done diffrent or better.
Learning experiences in my life have come from lost.
Loosing a friend.
Loosing a fight.
Loosing a pet.
Loosing a passion.
If you don't reflect on these things you can't learn how to be a better man.
But it's important to let these things go or they will make you weak. #keephammering

Pick up the biography of any of our great men in the arts, in science, in politics, in invention – in any field – and you cannot but be impressed with the large part struggle has played in their lives.
Only the things that must be struggled for are worth the having.
Who wishes to play in a game when there is no opponent?
Who would care to climb mountains if they were all downhill, instead of up? It’s the hours of tremendous struggle that enhance the view from the top.
Struggle a little every day with something. Do not forever seek the shady path where all is roses. Strength is gained by fighting. Wishbone is a poor substitute for backbone. Beware of the friend who wishes to carry all the load for you – he is “misfortune” in disguise.
Stand on your own feet.
Fight your own way.

If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again. Was feeling great deadlifting (good enough to possibly pr) then failed and got pretty pissed... decided to just go squat for 💩 and giggles and ended up putting up some decent numbers. Thought I got deep enough but realized in the video I could’ve gone an inch further. Still happy with how it felt on the way down that 405 is right around the corner. 385x1
Until about an hour ago I was convinced I was running on the treadmill tonight, but that is not as fun or effective. Instead I ran a 5k in the snow and my body rewarded me with a time of just over 27 minutes, which I will gladly take as that is a new personal best. #keephammering#5kaday#gocougs
02/17/18 Late session last night but a fun one with @chelseahedlund_ipepro @tjdevine93 and @dbuilt. Wifey got in at 10pm, picked her up and to the gym we went. 1-Board Bench 6x3@185lbs. Even number sets shown. Then Close-Grip Bench 4x5@175lbs. Finished with some V-Bar Extensions.
