kale is a powerhouse superfood that was allegedly cultivated by the greeks and romans 🍃🌿 but what about that plastic wrapping that tightly caresses the pre-packaged ones we can easily buy today? the first human-made plastic was showcased in london in the late 1800s and came from cellulose-based organic materials! 1900s we were presented with water resistant cellophane which propelled industries and scientists to develop new chemically designed ones to protect military gear (again, dun dun dun...) which we than started using for preserving freshness in food. hah! but then, sade though 🤪❤️written history tries so hard to be a smooth operator, doesn’t it?
Once again the indecisiveness between savoury and sweet was real - but I chose savoury for 2 reasons:
1. For you guys (I hadn’t posted this dish before - #yourewelcome ) and
2. How do you go past a dish labeled VEGAN EUPHORIA? 🤷🏻♀️ Pan fried cauliflower, black quinoa, buckwheat, asparagus, kale, roasted cashews, chili, lemon zest & raisins.
The fritters up top were vegetarian and I had one bite and oh boy.. are they good. And with fritters I find them very hit and miss. Kind of like risotto.
And also - here’s a little tip for you guys that I personally use when I’m eating out and feeling indecisive: if you really love the sound of two dishes and you just can’t decide, choose the one your body will be more thankful for. For instance if you’ve had a smoothie for breakfast and you’re deciding between a smoothie bowl or a savoury lunch, maybe go the savoury because you’ve already given your body that smoothie goodness that day. Or if it’s between two dishes and one has veggies and the other is deep fried, go the #health option! Just a little handy hint for any of my fellow indecisive humans out there! 🥗
