Jerk Cauliflower with rice and peas, cabbage, and plantain. SWIPE ➡️ for the process in making the cauliflower. Here’s the trick: I basically cook it the same way I used to cook chicken LOL A good batter works well on mostly anything and seasonings and sauces pretty much do the trick. I battered the cauliflower in unsweetened almond milk, flour, and all purpose seasoning then fried them until they were golden brown and tossed them in a jerk marinade. It satisfied all my Caribbean food cravings! Yea mon! Everyting is IRIE! #caribbeanvegan#veganjamaicanfood#vegansoul#jerkcauliflower
Must try meal prep recipe! 😆😍 Jerk BBQ Cauliflower w/ Quinoa rice and Snow peas 😏
Wash and break two heads of cauliflower into bite sized pieces. Lighlty batter the cauliflower in a wet batter ( flour, all purpose seasoning, salt and water) then a dry batter of only flour.
Heat 1 cup of veggie oil and fry your coliflower 1 minute on each side then toss them in your fav vegan bbq sauce 👅
Put 3 cups of water to boil. When the water is boiling add two hand fulls of snow peas and turn of your stove immediately. The peas will cook just enough and have crispy bite.
I prefer to use Goya Quinoa Blend. Its vegan and flavourful. A ricecooker also makes things easier but you can cook it the same way you would rice on the stove top.
I tested out this recipe this week and it worked amazingly! Enjoy!🙌🏻 #veganjamaican#jerkcauliflower#friedcauliflower#bbqcauliflower#Quinoarice#snowpeas
So yesterday, I decided to satisfy a craving I had for jerk chicken by using @chettyshotsauce jerk seasoning rub and marinated a cauliflower flower steak and pan fried it in some oil. I had it on top of rice and peas(followed @hotforfood's recipe loosely for that). Next time I think I would slow bake the cauliflower in the over instead of frying it. It was tasty and hella spicy !
Sorry for being fairly inactive on this account. I haven't been staying too on top of my health game the last little bit with my birthday and all the indulgence that goes along with that ;). Getting myself back on track this week tho. Hope everyone's keeping well !
