Saturday I spent the day in a training. I have always wanted to be trained in AromaTouch, an essential oil application to the head, back and feet that combines physical touch and the aromas of essential oils so the person may have support in the emotional and physiological functions for wellbeing! It was such an uplifting experience. I received the AromaTouch technique on my body and I administered ATT for short. I fell asleep on the table! It was so relaxing. This is not a massage technique and is not intended to be a hard touch. It was also amazing giving ATT. It incorporates stress management with Lavender and Balance, immune support with Melaleuca and OnGuard, healthy inflammatory response with AromaTouch blend and Deep Blue, and homeostasis with Wild Orange and Peppermint. After the 40 minute ATT, there was an energetic feeling that is hard to describe. I felt amazing. I watched a video on how ATT shorter technique on the hand) is effecting Alzheimer’s and seniors in a very positive way. This approach is done on the hand. I hope to incorporate this with my family, my customers and also with those in need. Have you experienced AromaTouch? If you haven’t, you need to!

My daily dose of flavonoids and polyphenols!! I eat these EVERY day! Keeping autoimmune disease/inflammatory response in check can get complicated especially when it comes to changing your diet (which is honestly not an option if you suffer from these things) but starting with something simple like adding yummy flavonoid rich berries into your morning breakfast is immensely beneficial. (Hint: the smaller berries are the most nutrient dense) We have a tendency to kitchen sink things that require change (especially when it involves our eating habits) and they become so overwhelming that you don’t even know where to start and just discard the idea entirely. Start with one thing at a time and when it becomes routine (because it will, I promise) add or take away something else. Add the yummy stuff into your diet first because it makes it easier to stick to and gives you healthier snack alternatives! :)

A wide array of synthetic antioxidant preservatives is readily used in the food industry, but is subject to strict regulation due to known toxicity and the potential for unknown health effects. The search for better alternatives has led researchers to begin studying many essential oils due to their high antioxidant potential. Attempting to further determine the safety of a common essential oil constituent, carvacrol, Turkish scientists applied carvacrol to human cells in vitro to determine its toxicity. The results of their research not only confirm the safety of carvacrol use, but also add to the evidence that essential oils are a powerful source of antioxidant molecules. To experience the antioxidant benefits of carvacrol, try Thyme or Oregano essential oils, both of which are particularly high in this constituent.* Learn about healthy inflammation response with carvacrol.
Read about how carvacrol and thymol support immuno-respiratory support.
Well-regulated levels of inflammation are key to good health. There are many systems in place within the body that regulate inflammation levels. An article in the June 2015 issue of the scientific journal Inflammation suggests that carvacrol may help support the body’s normal immune response to inflammatory stressors*. An immune system under stress can sometimes overproduce inflammatory molecules, which can lead to adverse effects throughout the body. For example, when we undergo acute bouts of intense exercise, we trigger a natural inflammatory response. Carvacrol, a main chemical component of both Oregano and Thyme essential oils, may help assist the body’s normal immune system response to such stressors*. #carvacrol#doterrascience#aromaticchemistry#immuneresponse#inflammatoryresponse
Most of us can’t live without our daily dose of caffeine. In fact - research shows that moderate coffee drinkers can add a great deal of benefits to their health such as : ✅lowering the risk of developing type 2 diabetes ✅help reduce the risk of dementia and/or Alzheimer’s ✅lower the risk of liver diseases such as cirrhosis ✅have lower rates of developing strokes
And many many others.... but I always gets asked how does coffee damage our teeth when in fact it is good for the health of our body as a whole.
So how does coffee stain our teeth?🤔 ▫️Our enamel has these tiny microscopic pits and ridges that can hold particles of food or drinks. Coffee is loaded with tannins-a polyphenol (the latter are known for antioxidant properties). Tannins cause color compounds to stick to the enamel that will cause discoloration. ▫️Coffee is an acidic beverage ( low ph) and it causes the natural bacteria that is found in our oral cavity to create an acidic environment that will attack the enamel and further progress to tooth decay.
What can you do to avoid the above ? ✔️Try to drink the coffee at meal times or specific times instead of sipping on it all day. This will prevent prolonged exposure to those pigments and also less acidic attack
✔️Try to avoid unnecessary creamers and sugars. This will help to decrease the growth of damaging bacteria on your tooth surfaces. ✔️Rinse with water right after coffee or eat a fruit/veggie that is high in H2O ( cucumber/celery. These will cleanse your teeth from the coffee and neutralize the ph. ✅And lastly... visit your Hygienist/Dentist regularly to get a professional prophylaxis that will make sure to remove all stains and give you a bright and beautiful smile.
As always with great pleasure 🤗#yourhygienist#coffee#coffeeaddict#instacoffee#tannins#loveforcoffer#coloreddrinks#oralhealth#womenindentistry#womeninmedicine#dentistry#dentalcare#oralcare#healthprofessionals#women#dentalhygienist#dentalhygiene#dentallife#periodontal#perio#periodontitis#periodontics#periodontaldisease#halitosis#badbacteria#bacteria#goodbacteria#inflammation#inflammatoryresponse#inflammatory
I saw this post and had to repost this. Being titled as “Lupus fact #1 ” It really describes what lupus is and what it does very well. If we were to switch the terms and try grasping the concept of what it says in this picture in more simpler terms, I think it will help you guys understand it even better. So here goes :
__Lets think of the antibodies as an army; soldiers there to protect your body. Their job is to communicate with other members and signal each other if there are any invaders (a flu, a cold, a virus) — now let’s say an invader enters the battlefield, well the “Lupus Army” goes and actually teams up with them and backstabs you, your body by targeting you .. all of you. It’s as if the lupus army just becomes loopie and can not tell what to protect and what to destroy. In a more medical term, they can not tell self from non self. They basically get blind sighted by the “beauty” of the invaders that they think of them as their own, thus leading to the army getting invested in targeting you, in specific your body’s organs.
I do want to emphasize that It really depends on each individuals immune system, their battleground - how strong is your body’s game ?? Lol *
__Now, in my wonderful case - the target organs are my pair of scarred Lungs. One thing I can not stress enough is our friend, Mr. Inflammation. Once the battle has reached a peak, Which is in some cases also known as an inflammatory response - the term Lupus Flare is used (which is confirmed with specific blood tests). At this point the more severe the attack the more severe the Lupus flare. ☹️
__Have a good day guys, stay positive - keep your head up high keep fighting. You got this! 👊🏼 ________________________________________________

💁🏻I hear it all the time, “Im just going to change my diet and that will heal _____ issue.” #changeisgood
But the fact is, if it was THAT easy to make the #change why do we wait until we are #sick#ill or have been diagnosed with some #disease to make the change? #underthegun I was reading this article on diet and #microbiome (link in comments) on how our food can actually disrupt and mess with Our Microbiome, but it can’t actually fix it 😱. So what does that mean? Just eating 🍏healthy food is not going to repair the #damage done! It will stop more damage in the future, and help reduce the #inflammatoryresponse but you must get rid of the bad #microbes that are wrecking havoc on your body and replace them with good ones! 🙌🏻 Our #food isn’t the only thing that can cause #dysbiosis 💥 The #environment , #genetics , your #birth and #medication all play a factor! 😱 💁🏻 So if you are going to #dothehardthings and #healyourbody Don’t be fooled by #false information. 👱🏻♀️👶🏻👦🏻👱🏻 EVERYONE must supplement to help their #gut heal. Not all #supplements are created equal either. You are not the #exception you are the #rule .
This is just a wonderful reminder of how important it is to pay close attention to any changes in our furbabies! So glad this precious girl recovered quickly from her bee sting ❤️🐕 My boy got stung last year thinking it was a fly to play with 🤦♀️We first noticed blood where he had been scratching and then the swelling appeared. Thankfully we caught it early! So please keep a close eye on your furry friend when they explore the outdoors and call your vet if you notice any changes. #beesting#dogbeesting#inflammatoryresponse#poorpup#bewareofbees#notavet#antiinflammatory#seeyourvet#observeforchange#Repost @kiama_vet_hospital (@get_repost)
This poor little pooch was stung by a bee 🐝
She was the sadest little sausage dog with a swollen muzzle, we treated with some antihistamine and happy days for this flower lover 🌼 guess it's hard to avoid bees when your legs are this short 😂 #dachshund#beesting#kiamavets#daschundsofinstagram
Such a great little chart showing the drastic effects of inflammation on our bodies.
Did you know that large amounts of collagen in organic bone broth naturally fights inflammation (especially in the guts and joints)? True story! But did you also know that we also add natural inflammation-fighters (such as Reishi Mushrooms and Schisandra berries) to our broth to boost it's healing properties? Also a true story! If you suffer from any of these inflammatory issues, give our broth a try for six weeks to truly experience the amazing healing change it will bring to your body!

🌀Cortisol and Clear Skin 🌀
Cortisol is a hormone that occurs naturally in our bodies; when administered for medical purposes, it’s called hydrocortisone. Cortisol has many functions in the body but it is most commonly prescribed for inflammation caused by allergic reaction. 🤒Inflammation occurs when the body’s white blood cells are working to protect the body against bacteria or other foreign substances. This inflammatory response also occurs with acne caused by bacteria, and comes in the form of unflattering redness and swelling – not to mention, soreness! Although it may be something you’ve never heard of, hydrocortisone can be applied topically to treat inflammation for acne, making it less apparent and easier to conceal. It doesn’t treat acne, but it makes for a great quick fix!
Today's feature is good old Polysporin. This particular tube is filled with hydrocortisone, my secret acne fighting tool! Shhhh... 🤐 I find that it works well to reduce redness and even soreness, when the soreness is caused by swelling. I get a lot of acne, of all different sorts. Cystic acne is probably the acne type I use this most for because of the extreme redness of surrounding tissues. While it won't get rid of acne on its own, it works to recuse redness and swelling really quickly. We all know speed is key when that special event or date is coming up!! -----
#summerofstem Today's theme lined up well with my photo: outdoors! I love being outside but allergies to everything that grows makes it hard to enjoy all the summery goodness :( -----
K so this is the last time I'm going to explain my red chest. It's a combination of sun damage and its a reminder of not to be careless in the sun. I also suffer from an immune disorder which causes severe inflammation throughout my entire body and leaves me in pain 90 percent of my life. I don't whine , I don't complain because it is what it is. I've never played the whoa is me card, not in my DNA .So instead of being an ignorant fuk mind your business and worry about yourself. Walk 1 day in my shoes and you'd be crying like a little bitch. I plan on getting it treated with laser but until then it's me. Anyhow now that we got that outta the way still got abs ( a lil fluffy) but hey again it is what it is. I don't photoshop any of my shit and I'm not afraid to post the good, the bad and the ugly because at the end of the day I love to share my journey but it isn't always pretty. Zozo stole too many cherries yesterday and kept me up all night with a sore belly so it's a late start😩 #coffeeplease#opinionsarelikeassholes#mindyourbusiness#idome#youdoyou#thegoodthebadtheugly#womenwholift#womenwithcalves#ateeverythinglastnight 😂#inflammatoryresponse#immunedisorders#imafuckingwarrior#howdoyoulikemenow#trainingwhateveriwant 💋💋💋
Erica Julson joins Rebecca this week to talk all about food sensitivities, allergies and intolerances. Erica has a background in health psychology and retrained as a registered dietitian nutritionist to follow her passion for helping people to eat well for health. She and Rebecca get into the differences between immune and digestive responses to food, and how to know which you have. They also talk about how reducing inflammatory response is key when treating SIBO, and how vitamin deficiencies can lead to autoimmunity issues. Erica also explains why eating as broad a diet as possible is key to our overall health and wellbeing.

Ugh. I got cheesed. I got careless at the salad bar and went for the hardboiled eggs in my Wednesday salad. Well some cheese musta fallen in there and got in my salad. I could taste it but it was too late. My cheeks are normally pink but when I get dairy or gluten or soy, my body has a huge inflammation response and my cheeks get redder like I'm in the hot sun :( I get congested and if I willingly eat a bunch of it or get it many days in a row I'll almost certainly get a sinus infection.
Gluten is worse. I'll get dizzy even and then we'll just say it's downhill after it gets swallowed.
It's hard for family and friends to really get that I don't eat these things Bc they cause my body harm and discomfort. It's been over 4years since I've gone 100% off those Foods and it's made a difference. Also it really grinds my gears when people say inflammatory responses to food is made up. It's not, it's just not a normal response. Normal ppl please eat your dairy and gluten.
If you think you have an "intolerance" listen to your body. Food should give you energy, not snot up and turn beet red. #dairyfree#glutenfree#igotcheesed#itsnotbychoice#soyfree#reallymakesyouparanoid#listentoyourbody#inflammatoryresponse#nothanks
We wanted to take the time today to show you the PRP treatment process, from start to finish. ⚕️ 😷 💉
Firstly though, we’d like to thank our patient for requesting to take some pictures for his interest’s sake. Many more thanks for giving us permission to share those photos here, to help educate others about what the PRP process looks like!
Alright, let’s do this 👉 Patient is a middle-aged male, suffering with knee pain and slight clicking in the joint, from an aggravated old #skiing injury. After a consultation appointment to discuss the procedure and any risks, the patient is sent for an XRay to confirm that PRP would be an appropriate treatment option. Upon confirmation, the patient returns for the injection appointment. Two vials of blood are drawn, and spun for ten minutes at high speeds in a medical centrifuge. Once the centrifuge is complete, the plasma, white blood cells, and red blood cells - respectively - separate, and the plasma can be isolated for reinjection! In the photo above, you can actually see these three separate types of bodily substances.
Prior to reinjection of the PRP, @dradvil also injects some pain management into the area, to reduce any immediate discomfort. Post-injection, the patient is free to walk around and use his knee as he would normally, almost immediately. He will return for a follow-up, and possibly a second and third injection if warranted.
Thanks again for being such an engaged and interested patient, L! 📱 403.242.0484 💻 FrontDesk@VMediSpa.com / www.VMediSpa.com 🚗 100 - 1919 Sirocco Dr. SW, Calgary AB
Have you ever experienced the Aromatouch Technique? It's a soothing oil application method using 8 different oils (balance, lavender, melaleuca, on guard, Aromatouch, deep blue, Wild Orange and peppermint) plus fractionated coconut oil on the back and feet designed to help with stress management, immune support, inflammatory response and homeostasis. I got certified about a year ago and I'm so glad I learned this technique. My kids actually ask for it when they aren't feeling well!
Who's certified in Aromatouch Technique or has had it done before? What did you think?
