Keep those eyes open for your copy Canada!💚 📚About the book: Caught begins with a prison break. Twenty-five-year-old David Slaney, locked up on charges of marijuana possession, has escaped his cell and sprinted to the highway. There, he is picked up by a friend of his sister’s and transported to a strip bar where he survives his first night on the run. But evading the cops isn’t his only objective; Slaney intends to track down his old partner, Hearn, and get back into the drug business. Along the way, Slaney’s fugitive journey across Canada rushes vibrantly to life as he visits an old flame and adopts numerous guises to outpace authorities: hitchhiker, houseguest, student, lover. When finally he reunites with Hearn just steps ahead of a detective hell-bent on making a high-profile arrest, their scheme sends Slaney to Mexico, Colombia, and back again on an epic quest fueled by luck, charm, and unbending conviction.
Moore's most plot-driven novel to date, Caught is a thrillingly charged escapade that thrums with energy and suspense and deftly captures a moment in the late 1970s before the almost folkloric glamour surrounding pot smuggling turned violent. Ripe with bravado, love, ambition, and folly, Caught is about trust and deceit, about the risks we take for the lives we want and the mistakes we can’t outrun.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ out of 5 stars! Actually, this book gets ALL the stars! I am utterly embarrassed to admit that I have worked in both a bookstore and a public library and never heard of Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier before seeing it on bookstagram. How could this have happened?!? For those of you who were oblivious like me, Rebecca is a 20th century classic - a cult novel - that is a must read. This book is a literary masterpiece that has undertones of Jane Eyre. It is gothic literature encompassed with mystery, drama, romance, and suspense. This hauntingly eerie book sucked me in to the world that is Manderley (an isolated Cornish estate) and was exactly the type of book I was looking for. A twisting plot that I didn’t see coming, exceptional character development and writing, and brilliant subtext: This is the ultimate curl up on the couch with a cup of ☕️ book. I absolutely loved it and was so sad when it ended - will definitely be trying to hunt down the movie adaption by Alfred Hitchcock! If you are a fan of great literature like Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights, and The Thorn Birds, you must read Rebecca. I for one will definitely be reading this book again and again in the years to come! ——-“Last night I dreamt I went to Manderley again...Working as a paid companion to a bitter elderly lady, the timid heroine of Rebecca learns her place. Life is bleak until, on a trip to the South of France, she falls in love with Maxim de Winter, a handsome widower whose proposal takes her by surprise. Whisked away from Monte Carlo to Manderley, the friendless young bride begins to realize that she barely knows her husband at all. And in every corner of every room is the phantom of his beautiful first wife, Rebecca. Rebecca is the haunting story of a woman consumed by love and the struggle to find her identity.”

A book I bought with birthday money (thank you @constantreaderlaura!! 😘), The Blue Castle, by LM Montgomery. 💙💙
After enjoying my reread of Emily of New Moon with @two.clumsy.hands , I had Montgomery on the brain. This book was written for an adult audience, I believe in 1926. Has Anyone read it?
I finished Jane Eyre early this evening! It was good, there were a few times my mind wandered a bit, but overall I’m very happy to have read it and was blown away by the end!
