Melbourne / 2.1 / First Impressions / 🏠🇦🇺 /
Day one was full of everything, but hanging out with a Minnesotan definitely helped out the transition into Aussie land; I tried my very first Espresso Martini, went to St Kilda to relax by the beach, was warned about Vegemite and met my awesome new bunkmates at the hostel. I woke up early (thanks jet lag) and went out to explore the famous Brighton bathing boxes in Melbourne… it was nice to get there early to avoid the crowds and though the light was not ideal, I really enjoyed this.

A life without love is like a year without summer.
What could be better than lazy summers days at the beach....I’m hoping to enjoy a couple more days in the sun before summer comes to an end.
Happy Friday everyone xx
Cairns / 19.1 / The Adventure Capital Of Australia / 🐠🌿 Cairns is the starting point to the Great Barrier Reef and the Daintree forest (both UNESCO sites), so there are many opportunities to go and explore the area. Cairns weather was very tropical and humid so on my first day I went with a fun group of British people to some waterfalls and hikes near Cairns, it was cool but the tour guide was something else, they played fun music on the way to the waterfalls and had tons of coffee and biscuit breaks.
The Outback / 6.6 / The Stars / ⭐️ /
Although I didn’t have a nice enough camera to capture stars, I did see the most amazing stars I have ever seen in a long time (or ever). After showering at camp (yes we had warm showers) and having dinner with the tour mates, I took a walk by myself and just admired the sky full of stars. Nothing compares to this, you in the center of Australia observing the sky… definitely one of the highlights of the trip, I only had to be cautious not to run into a snake or any other animal (that is quite common down there).
We must be getting itchy feet here in the office this week! Sharing some of our favourite images of the #MurrayRiver ! Here in the office we are busily preparing for our 2018 walking season and some of the team are off to Perth to represent South Australia at the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards #QATA17 ! Fingers crossed we have something exciting to share with you Friday evening! Stay tuned!
