In one one of the largest human microbiota studies to date, researchers demonstrated the important link between healthy aging and a healthy gut. Namely, they reported that the diversity of your gut as you age can be used as a biomarker of healthy aging, just like low-cholesterol has been noted to be an important biomarker for a healthy cardiovascular system. #GUTXY

This was plan b from my epic fail plan a! A lamb calzone, turned into a deconstructed lamb pizza... on the left homemade pizza dough with sweet chilli sauce, feta, mozzarella and parmesan and on the right is the lamb mince, with zucchini, tomato, carrot, ground coriander, olives and salt and pepper cooked into it... topped with a cucumber and lemon Greek yoghurt, served with a garnish salad and lemon wedge.... #blissful_belly#dinnerdeconstructed#ibsfriendly
Anxiety is REAL.
Anxiety is CRUSHING.
And anxiety, when it comes to your digestion, is DOWNRIGHT detrimental.
Aka, don’t expect to have a great relationship with the bathroom for AT LEAST a day.
Whether it’s anxiety from overwhelm in your life.
Anxiety from something that you can’t get over from the past.
Or whether it just sneaks up out of nowhere without ANY apparent reason.
You don’t have to explain it. I know it’s REAL.
And because I can’t tell you every single thing I do to get rid of it in one post, I will say ONE THING.
If you aren’t doing ANYTHING in your life that brings out the silly, kid-like person that you have hidden inside you (no matter your age), START NOW.
- Laugh - SO hard. Find something or someone that cracks you up!
- Skip instead of walking (I know how silly you’ll feel.. but do it.. even if it’s from the privacy of your home)

Thinking of doing a blog post with all my favourite cafes on the Coast with awesome gluten and dairy free options ☕️
This week on the blog I’m starting a 4-part series on being healthy with IBS – something that’s not always easy, but is possible. In this first article, I talk about choosing healthy foods without disrupting your IBS.
The reason why this is super important is because you’re likely to eat somewhere between 3-6 times per day. So dealing with the food situation is pretty important, especially when you have food sensitivities because of your IBS.
* Why healthy food choices matter for people with IBS
* The basic guidelines for healthy food choices for IBS
* Where you need to be careful in your food choices
* How to create a healthy and balanced FODMAP friendly plate
* How to choose healthier snacks that help you to ensure you don’t miss out on key nutrients
* Why it’s okay to have days where healthy eating isn’t as much of a priority
* What to do if you need more help making healthier food choices

Is it only me who feels this looks like an oriental piece of art?? 🤔🤔Red Apple with almond butter and chia seeds turned out to be a perfect topping on a warm whole grain toast 👌🏻😊 That's obvious because I had a big bite and another slice of toast which you can't see - because social media never gives you the full picture 👀
still feeling super rough from being glutened at the weekend but determined not to let it get in the way of my menu plan! tonight i made gf, low FODMAP sticky teriyaki style salmon and veg - low carb for me and then chucked in some lime and coconut rice for ross! despite feeling nauseous the whole way through i actually quite enjoyed it! 🎣🍢🍣
sauce was made from tamari, garlic oil, sesame oil, maple syrup, lazy ginger and a couple of chilli flakes
Mix of greens for a troubled mind. This vegan salad was pretty decent, too bad the service was a total disgrace @villamaasai - their African dishes are absolutely delicious (I’ve been quite a few times already) but I won’t sacrifice the concept of hospitality for the sake of my tastebuds, sorry!
The longer we put off getting back to our normal health, the further away we will ultimately find ourselves from the state of health we would like to be in! Cheers to health guys 🍑🍒🍍🥝🥑🥒🍆#healthrevolution#kissthespoon
I couldn’t wait to get myself a box of these Morrisons Free From Pecan Tarts as since going gluten & dairy free, one of the things that I’ve missed the most are pecan plaits! Two different products I know, but I expect it’s the closest I’m going to get right now as I can’t bake for toffee 🙈. These tarts are really nice and very strong in flavour! It makes a nice change from cherry bakewells and apple pies ☺️.
