@marlenebeautysecrets sent me the line of natural products to try out and this is the first one I’ll share my first impression about. It’s their “2 in 1 Cinnamon Hair Mask Moisturizer & Detangler”. As I opened it I was excited to see the texture. It’s thick, creamy, and almost moldeable. It has some serious Shea Butter which is a great emollient and moisturizer, speacially for tight curls and kinky hair locking moisture from roots to ends. If you visit their website you’ll be able to see all the other oils it has with tremendous benefits to our hair ( i. e. Almond, Castor Oil, coconut oil, olive, and more). Many that are natural conditioners, moisturizers, and sealants to make sure our hair ends up soft, shiny, and defined.
Since the physical properties of this mask is affected by temperature it works even better when applying a little heat to make the ingredients more permeable and also opens the cuticles for a more effective moisturizing treatment. The mask also gets more slip with it and a little water, since the original slip is about a 6/10 in its most solid state yet still good enough to detangle and brush with. The scent is something I was am drawn to because it’s such a soft and natural smell, I compare it to a healthy bowl of oatmeal with added almonds, cinnamon, and coconut. Which gives me serenity.
Washing it off my hair had beautiful clumps, the moisture was extremely locked to perfection, no frizz, and the curl pattern already wanted to start shrinking. Like I said at the beginning, the temperature affects its consistency, so since I rinse with cold water to seal the cuticle you might feel that some product gets left behind on your hair but it’s just the natural reaction of those products to cold temperatures, it was all the moisturizing ingredients my hair hold on tight too and wasn’t letting go.
You can also use this product before your shampoo, or no-poo to detangle you hair. It will definitely restore moisture for a pain free detangling session with less breakage and shedding.
I can see this product being very useful to hair’s with high density, tight curls, and kinky hair. It’s made per order, paraben, sulfate, and silicone free.
What a great way to show some love to my scalp and hair. Since my scalp needed some love and attention do to a Seborrheic Dermatitis flare up, I decided it was time for a Bentonite Clay Mask. So I used the @naturallycurly recipe I used last time that I enjoyed so much. This recipe is much more gentle than the most popular one using just the clay and ACV. While still providing the cleansing and detoxing benefits it also conditions, moisturizes, adds shine, softness, definition, and curl clumping.
The list of ingredients are:
🌿Bentonite Clay: Some of its benefits are explained on video.
🌿Apple Cider Vinegar: works as a antimicrobial. It alleviates itching and flaking connected to scalp conditions dandruff, psoriasis, and seborrheic dermatitis. It also increases moisture retention, laying the cuticles flat and balancing by balancing the pH of the hair.
Water: The all powerful hydrator.
🌿Coconut oil: It’s one of the few oils to penetrate our hair shaft. It protects and coats our hair, and prevents loss of protein.
🌿Jamaican Black Castor Oil: Also a antibacterial while having other anti-fungal properties, meaning it will help with dandruff and other scalp conditions. It is also a great sealant for moisture and it has properties to encourage hair thickening and growth.
🌿Sweet almond oil: locks moisture into our hair as it also provides nutrients, smoothes the cuticles, helps minimize shedding, and adds shine.
@qredew is the amazing hand held steamer used to maximize treatment’s benefits.
