With the OHL combine this Saturday and draft within a couple weeks, Jack (16yrsold) worked on some velocity/power based training of 10x2-3 @ 0.8m/s (velocity) for his main lifts, followed by accessory work to aid in his athletic performance. The 🔑 factor when training athletes is to perform with CONSISTENCY and INTENT. A potential top 12 pick in the draft, this kid is a future star and I can’t wait to see him progress further on in his training regimen and career! #personaltrainer#strengthandconditioning#fitness#hockey#squats#deadlift#highperformance
Back on track after a week of vacation. The @bandbell Rhino Flex bar is the perfect choice to reintroduce the body to full ROM movements again prior to heavier sessions. It creates a unique muscular tension without having to load the bar greatly. We added banded kettlebells for even more stability and proprioceptive demand.
Something I learnt the really hard way over the years is that you can bend over backwards for people, you can give them the shirt off your back, you can be nothing but nice, you can stand in your own power and wholly for your values and yet still some people will take your kindness and twist into something it is not. Honestly? That’s not your problem. It’s not. You can’t change the way other people see the world, or you for that matter. Don’t let the fact that some people are just arseholes define you or your kindness. Don’t let them ruin the altruism that lives within you. We all have to learn in our own way, at our own pace. Stay kind. Bend but don’t break in the face of other people’s arseholey behaviour. You’re awesome sunshine.
