So tonight has ended up being a binge. I don't typically binge when I'm feeling down but I'm starting to see that I do it when I'm feeling down about myself. I'm coming down really hard on myself today and feeling so disconnected from my body. I don't feel feminine and I haven't in a very long time and it's starting to take it's toll on me. And I so desperately want to shit on myself even more for binge eating and feeling this way. But I'm not going to. That will only cause me to go down further. Part of any journey is stumbling. And that's ok. The important thing is to puck yourself back up. Now I know what my trigger is I can work on it. I need to. There's no succeeding without working on it. Deep breath. Tomorrow is a new a day. And for tonight I'll do some self care.

All these reasons are what I told myself as to why I shouldn't workout but I did it anyway. (I am not saying anyone else should too just that I know my body and my limit and this wasn't it) I hit pause 4 times to catch my breath and get all my reps in and to keep myself #hydrated and I'm damn #proud of myself.

The emotional pain I've been through is much more than any pain I've had during a workout --Jazymne Reyes

As I was at the end of this workout, I kept thinking... oh gosh, I'm so out of breath...I need a break.. maybe I can pause for a second.. maybe I can stop here.. but I have yet to miss/pause one workout and we are on day 37. 
When I heard Jazymne make the comment about emotional pain, it's 100% true. The pain I feel during my workout is temporary.. it'll go away as soon as I get out of the air from my Mule. But emotional pain? Pain of not feeling comfortable in my body... not feeling like I can get through a workout... wanting to drown my figure in oversized clothes, leggings.. last winter? I wore only leggings.. every outfit.  This winter? 
I'll rock those high waisted skinny jeans with my top tucked in. My emotional struggle has been real. Once I got out of my own head... that is when my body changed the most.

Barely two days into being on track with my “bulk” and I’m mentally exhausted. My workout tonight suffered because of it. 
What is my biggest fear? That I’m eating in a surplus and will not gain the muscle I want so badly. I always doubt myself...Im not doing the exercises correctly, I’m not engaging the right muscles...something just isn’t right. 
I have to learn patience. I have to learn trust. I have to learn continued consistency, even with when I’m not seeing the results I want when I want them. 
It’s just a hard process. But I’m not giving up!

My one consistent was my exercise but my food was very average. New week fresh start. We celebrated Jaron’s birthday, had another attempt at running Castle Hill. Hit the halfway mark of my 100k challenge and again thank god for snap filters. 3 weeks ago I stopped tracking macros for personal and health reasons and it’s been so good for me mentally. It makes things like salad bars so much easier, mentally at least and getting something like chicken stew simple, because I don’t agonize over finding an entry in mfp that seems accurate. 
I also don’t feel the need to eat everything because I tracked it. I ate most of the salad, skipped the croutons cuz I didn’t like em. Ate half my roll and saved half and ate probably a little over half the stew. Realized I was good and put it away without the need to adjust MFP because I already tracked it.

When I have physique goals again one day I’m sure I’ll go back to iifym because I do love flexible dieting but for now I’m happy to just eat, guess it’s #intuitiveeating but I just see it as living 🤷🏻‍♀️ #fuelyourbody #strength #strongandfit

Then I got an hour class of mobility/stretching after which hurt but felt so good! Now I’m ready to enjoy my Saturday! 😉

For me, it’s piano and dance. And I miss them both. So I decided to go back to dance class (though not as often as I’d like) and to teach myself piano.

Yes, teach myself. Because I haven’t played regularly since high school. And, um, I’m 50 now. You can do the math... 😬

A couple months ago, I never saw this piece before. I heard it. Knew it was Bach. Knew I’d love to be able to play it one day. So I started.

Just started.

It took me a couple months. Just a little bit here and there. Not even that consistently. And I made progress.

Yeah, you could say it takes skill. Or discipline. Or even talent.

But all that is required, really, is that you start.
And keep going.
No one asks that you be perfect.
Just focus on making progress.

It’s not all about lifting weights 🏋🏼‍♀️ sometimes I play in old castles. 
Moving and increasing your activity levels is always good. It was a crispy frosty morning today and we @hen9589 got out nice and early to enjoy a long stroll along the river... very lucky to have this right behind our house!! Had a not so productive gym session after this but got there.. halfway through week 8 @ohfitnessfurnace 🙌🏻

What an AMAZING start to my Saturday morning 👐🏼😍 I woke up and realized I had to use up some of my veggies in my fridge so I decided to experiment with zucchini tacos!!! Watching chopped at 7am might have influenced me a little....🙀 the only thing that could of made this better was some avocado 🥑 who said eating clean and healthy had to be boring??? I have soooo many more recipes to post so stay tuned 😏 I smell chocolate banana protein pancakes in the making 😲 BE HAPPY, BE HEALTHY, BE YOUTIFUL

Chili lime shrimp bowls - Higher carb vs. lower carb! Although I don't count cals or track macros I get a lot of questions about the nutritional breakdown of my meals. This post isn't to say that one meal is "good" or "bad" but it's nice to be aware of portion sizes depending on what your individual goals are! 👊 The higher carb bowl has around 1 cup of jasmine rice compared to about 2 cups of zucchini noodles. The zoodles are great for adding extra volume to your plate! Both meals are staples in my preps but I usually go with the rice. These bowls are pretty high in protein also + low in fat! Although I don't count cals or track macros I get a lot of questions about the nutritional breakdown of my meals. This post isn't to say that one meal is "good" or "bad" but it's nice to be aware of portion sizes depending on what your individual goals are! 👊 The higher carb bowl has around 1 cup of jasmine rice compared to about 2 cups of zucchini noodles. The zoodles are great for adding extra volume to your plate! Both meals are staples in my preps but I usually go with the rice. These bowls are pretty high in protein also + low in fat! Last night I went to a concert here in OKC. And I saw something happen three times that really made me think. I saw droves of conventionally beautiful girls (thin, long hair, perfect makeup) laughing and carrying on, plowing through people without so much as a backward glance, much less an “excuse me”. And no big deal, right? It was super crowded and bumping was bound to happen. But three times I saw women, beautiful women, who happened to have a fuller shape, try to pass through without touching anyone, apologies pouring from their lips. Why? What have we done to these women to make them apologize for their presence? It rubbed me all kinds of wrong. Ladies, (and you too, gentlemen), YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL. YOU ARE ALLOWED TO TAKE UP SPACE. YOU ARE A GIFT IN THE UNIVERSE THAT HAS NO DEBT TO APOLOGIES. I’m a big girl y’all. Broad shouldered, squishy tummy, thick legs. But I don’t apologize for the space I consume. I don’t question my beauty in the face of other beautiful women. We can all be beautiful. Flowers and Christmas lights are beautiful and look nothing alike. I don’t have to question myself because I’m different from someone else. And neither do you. Stop apologizing. Stop putting yourself down. Stop comparing. LOVE YOUR DAMN  BODY. I don’t care if it weighs 90 pounds or 999 pounds. What's your favorite meal prepped breakfast? I'm so glad I had these egg cups in the fridge because I was so not feeling breakfast this morning. Make 'em ➡➡ preheat the oven to 350. Cook half a lb of breakfast sausage, breaking it up into smaller pieces as you go. Set it aside. Whisk nine eggs with two tbs of coconut milk and 1/4 tsp each of salt and pepper. Julienne some spinach. I didn't measure but I had about 1 1/2 cups. Lightly grease a muffin tin. Add several pieces of sausage and a generous amount (a few tbs) of spinach to each well. Pour in the egg mixture until it's almost to the top. If your eggs are big, you might get 12 muffins, I got nine. Bake 15-20 minutes until set in the middle..

I hear so many people say “well I’ve already screwed up this week” before they throw in the towel on their fitness goals. “I’ll start Monday” and “well it’s the weekend” typically go hand in hand with those comments. But, it’s so important to count each day as a new one. Each a new chance to start over, to fuel your body properly, and focus on progressing. Try not to let your slip ups rule the rest of the week. It’s much easier to reach your goals with 365 chances rather than 52!
