I tell myself the same thing I tell my students when they tell me they can’t have a good day because they have ADHD and forgot their meds. We all have struggle. Where others may shine, you may struggle. That doesn’t make it impossible; it makes it harder.
My thyroid will not be my excuse for letting myself go, getting overweight or out of shape. I own every bit of that with my behavior and commitment. When I put on weight, it’s not because I have Hashimoto’s, it’s because of my lack of commitment to do better. Does that mean my metabolism isn’t sluggish, or that the chemical and hormonal changes don’t affect my weight or behavior? No. It means I’m aware of those difficulties and I’m making decisions to give in, or work harder. Not to be skinny, or fit into an image, but to be strong and healthy. Which ever way the scale tips, time and time again, I prove to myself, it’s my choice.
Did you know that there use a correlation between depression and poor digestion? In today's 1 minute video, I help to explain the unique characteristics the brain and the gut share. I talk about digestion and probiotics extensively, but by increasing the amount of good healthy gut bacteria can alter the way your body produces those happy hormones. Speaking from experience, I share a bit of how getting the gut in order can reduce inflammation (which decreases bodily stress) and help your body produce those natural hormones that allow you to cognitively process how to deal with stress and negativity. I DID IT!!!! 🥦🥕🍚 I've been saving so much money since making the commitment to eat clean (unprocessed/natural foods)! I cut out fast food trips to Chic Fil A, pit stops to Wawa, and coffee runs to Dunkin Donuts. I also hadn't been out to eat in 6 weeks, so that meant no expensive restaurant bills 💲💲💲 But I must confess there was another reason I was avoiding restaurants...I was scared!! Scared that I wouldn't find a clean option, or that I would give into temptation, or that the chef wouldn't be willing to accomodate my requests... but I DID IT!!! Sure I had to study the menu a bit, yes I had to change my decision a few times, yes the waiter had to go ask the chef a few extra questions, but I DID IT!!! 👏👏👏 ...and you can too!! Money is NOT an acceptable excuse, and lack of commitment is NOT an acceptable excuse to give up on yourself! If your health and fitness are a priority to you, you WILL find a way. You will look closely at your budget and you will be HONEST with yourself about how freely you spend money on items that you could do without. You will dig deep down and you will find your reason WHY you can and you WILL commit to making healthy choices. Life is well, super busy. It’s ever changing! It’s so beautiful but also sometimes painful. There are summer seasons and there are storms. I recognize this and I’ve chosen to not let hard/sad moments allow me to throw my nutrition out the window or go down hill on the consistency I’ve built up in exercising daily, which has happened in the past.
I’m no where neat perfect. I’d say I’m dang far away.. but praise the Lord there is grace. God is my strength in times I need to press on and my refuge in times I need comfort. Whatever you might be going through, you’re not alone. But God is ready and eager to lavish his love and grace on you too. He wants to be your foundation and Prince of Peace through your storm ✨
Most people have heard the phrase, "You Are What You Eat". But I believe it's much more apropos to say, "You Eat What You Are." What you "spit out" is certainly more important to those people around you than what you put in. ⠀
Your words and your actions based on those words should be what counts, not necessarily that you have good thoughts and ideas about doing them. Look at it this way. I'm sure you know plenty of people who are in the fitness/nutrition/health industry that profess and live a "healthy" life, yet gossip, talk s*^t, are rude, inconsiderate, and selfish. But have you ever taken a step back and thought about those people that may regularly have fast food addictions or a weight problem or struggling with their health, yet bring light and kindness and goodness into your life?⠀
Once you learn to see that everyone has their own battles and demons inside them; but it's how they project those onto others are the things that count. 100 times out of 100, I'll take powerful beam of sunshine a few hours of the day than a wimpy penlight that's available all the time. Be the light, friends.

Today I want to talk about WATER 💦 and How we can Cleanse Our body Fluids. 💧
First Thing would be obviously drinking More Water. My suggestion would be Water containing low levels of minerals; if possible, best-kind of water to be consuming is Spring water. 💧 second, lower salts consumption a little bit for a while to flush out the system. 💧 Third, Water to be your First “Meal” of the day. Not only will help put cleansing your body Fluids but it would your Digestive system a tiny Flush and start up for the Day as well. I usually drink a liter of water upon waking. 💧 Last but not Least, using diuretic HERBS which will help out clean the blood stream faster. ATTENTION 🚨 I did not say chemical diuretics, like the once we find at Supplement Stores. I talk about natural herbs that help out with the process. I usually use Dandelion Tea and Jamaica Flowers. I'm sick.🤕 I'm sick.🤒I'm sick.🤧 Well...I'M not sick, but my friends and family seem to be sick ALLLLLL the time! Today I went to Walgreens and the line at the pharmacy was longer than I've ever seen. 😳 It had me mildly paranoid that I'd catch something being in there. 😷 BUT I find comfort in knowing that my immune system is really really strong - one of the main reasons is because of the daily superfood shake I drink that is packed with nutrients that keep my body healthy!

😍😍😍SWEET POTATO FRENCH TOAST ROUNDS WITH VANILLA ALMOND BUTTER DRIZZLE TOPPED WITH CINNAMON HONEY APPLES & CACAO NIBS😍😍😍
These beauties surpassed my expectations & will definitely be on repeat...pls don’t let the mess of a presentation fool you, they’re REALLY GOOD😋😋
• Slice 2 Organic Sweet Potatoes 1/4” in thickness, width-wise to create circles
• Place on baking sheet in a single layer and spray w cooking oil of choice
• Bake at 450* for approx 30 minutes, until cooked thoroughly • Wisk 1 Organic Egg in a bowl and place cooled sweet potatoes into bowl and cover thoroughly w egg mixture. Place in a pan and cook on low-med heat until eggs are cooked
• In a saucepan combine 2-3 Tbsps Justins Vanilla Almond Butter, a splash of unsweetened vanilla almond milk, and a drizzle of honey. Combine all ingredients until well blended and set aside
• Slice 2-3 organic gala apples and place in a single layer on a baking sheet. Sprinkle w cinnamon and drizzle a tiny amount of honey on them. Bake at 350* for approx 25 minutes
• Place sweet potato french toast rounds on a plate and spead/drizzle almond butter mixture onto each round & add 1-2 slices baked apples
• Optional: add cacao nibs & enjoy🎉🎉
Full on bed head 🙄 but it doesn’t matter...🤷♀️
Woke with a headache🤯 but it doesn’t matter.... I pressed play and I still got bed head but my head feels slightly better!😊 There was a time when waking with even the slightest of discomfort would be all the evidence I needed to take a day off. Not anymore, this is now part of my routine, just like showering and brushing my teeth, it is necessary!!!! My insides have never felt better, everything seems to be working at 100% and for me that is huge because from my teenage years right up till I was 40 I was constantly battling with some sort of stomach/bowel issues almost on a daily basis.
Keeled over at work in pain, bloated so badly my pants were cutting into me so uncomfortably, no energy and a bad mood and attitude! It’s amazing what feeling rotten and in pain can really do to your overall being!
