Just a wee look on the Welsh dresser in the Bothy. I’m loving Lesley Mackenzie’s new ceramics, a very talented artist.
In Lesley’s own words...... ‘Born and raised in the Highlands I have created pictures since I could hold a crayon! After training in architecture , I returned to my original love of painting but on ceramics.
With over 25 years experience in the ceramic industry, designer and painter at ANTA then Tain Pottery I have now branched out to produce my own range of ideas and designs inspired by the nature, culture and history of the beautiful surroundings which I am so lucky to live in.
My Ceramic Bisque ‘Canvases’ are produced by my suppliers using best quality white earthenware. All my designs and lettering are hand painted by brush on a wheel using special underglaze paints. Each piece is then dipped in a clear glaze and fired to 1000 degC which results in beautiful translucent layers of colour - every single piece is unique.’#ceramics#handpaintedceramics#troutfishing#fishpottery
One of my favorite new creations is my mini jockey plate. 4” round, ceramic plate, hand painted, glazed and fired by me. I love the idea of hanging an assortment on the wall. They are the perfect size for appetizers and desserts. Shop on my #Etsy page. 🏇🏻#forpetessakepottery
I’ve recently got these traditional hand painted Romanian plates from home. The patterns are specific to different regions of the country, and the colours are just beautiful. But these are only a tiny, little sample of the multitude of patterns and designs specific to my country, I would probably need a warehouse to store them all. My sister is currently on a mission to send a couple every month:-) She has also sent me some Romanian charcuterie, yumyum I will post a few pictures soon because I would like to share our traditions with you. Have a lovely weekend, lots of love, me xxx. #ceramics#romanianceramics#handpaintedceramics#muzeultaranuluiroman
