Trimmng and assembling was taking longer than I hoped. I think I need one more day to finish these all 4. :) Here is one pot getting done. Still need to put handle. Maybe tomorrow. I wish the shape was prettier, and also spout works right. Thanks @daebuyo for nice tutorials. - darkbrown clay, cone10 lagunaclay #teapot#다관#handmadepottery#makersgonnamake#ceramicart
Specially designed and created for #thepotteryexpo . Study on contrasts...super smooth unglazed porcelain bowls with clear glaze on the inside placed on a glossy textural plate! Expo starts tomorrow. See you there😀
I’m getting my market schedule all lined up for the year and reliving this dreamy set-up I shared with @wildbotanicals when we did @renegadecraft in Chicago. If only those booths packed and unpacked themselves 😝
Our new cross design with 22k gold edges (and option to personalize!!) is definitely one of the pieces in our Spring collection that I have been impatiently waiting to share!! Stay tuned, our spring collection launches March 1. And if you’re a VIP, you received a special coupon in your inbox today to use when we release it all! Another glaze load going! This is my studded belly mug. I use a wax resist on the black studded part and glaze the rest in clear. I then use a sponge to wipe away any left over drops. It’s so satisfying watching the drops fall away from wax. 😁
A couple of special things.
I saved just for this time.
As a show of faith and positive thinking.
Things I struggle mightily with. I told no one.
That I held these things in reserve.
I am glad I did. //:://
Thanks @jsfeng for this mug. It was part replacement. Part going away gift. And partly a have faith mobile 😬 #3652018#3652018WC#handmademug#handmadepottery#myfriendsaretalented
I drink out of this mug every day! It's got a crack in the bottom but doesn't leak, and is the only piece of my own work that I've kept that's been made in the past year or so. It's made the exact size I like my morning coffee mug to be and it fits my hands perfectly. I was thinking about how different mugs reflect the different people that have made them, and the different ways someone's personality and taste comes through. not necessarily in how a piece looks, but thru the different aspects of its functionality. I also started wondering why I don't keep more of my own work. I make these things specifically to my personal idea of what makes a perfect mug, so why don't I keep more of them since they are kinda sorta made specifically for me.
Leaving the work to #light and #shadow . The contrast is subtle compared to my usual finish. After moving it from room to room over the past couple of weeks, I’m happy with its versatility. #texture
This week I've enjoyed starting to dream up new shapes and pieces I want to try making. It's getting me excited about getting back into making soon! I love having the freedom to just experiment and take the pressure off myself
It's so true when they say absence makes the heart grow stronger - two months out and I'm starting to get antsy!
