Finally finished! During the design phase of this guitar, Tom Petty passed away, subsequently there was an awful lot of his music being played in my shop, I was listening to him well into the build and once again during finishing. I thought it fitting to name this model with inspiration from Somewhere Under Heaven. This is little Jenny. English Walnut back and sides, Black Walnut neck, EI Rosewood bridge and fingerboard, lightly figured Bearclaw Sitka Spruce soundboard, Zebrawood headstock veneer and rosette.
TESTIMONIAL // Oregon Concertina E "I recently took a trip to Dallas to look at and play some solid wood Mahogany, Koa-or other alternatives to Sitka/Rosewood so I could obtain a warmer/richer sound to use for some folk-type performances/recording. The solid Myrtlewood top caught my eye because I’ve never seen one before. The bass was so clear and warm I thought I accidentally picked up an acoustic bass. But once I hit the mids and trebles& heard the clarity and sustain- and felt the vibrations from the back of the guitar on my body, I knew this was something special! The thin bracing and the way Breedlove voices these tops make them feel more responsive than any guitar I’ve ever played. I played some custom guitars that day that were close to tenfold more in price, but NONE of them sounded as rich as this one. I saw another of these at another store that evening so I decided to see if the one I played earlier that day was a fluke. It wasn’t! I didn’t have the money or I wouldn’t have left without it... but about two weeks later, my lovely wife handed me a very long Breedlove box on my birthday. Wow! What a blessing this guitar has been! I believe the hype now. “Big Sound” from Breedlove is no joke, and the fit and thin finish on these Oregon Series guitars are as good as any custom I’ve seen, and by far better than any non-custom I’ve seen. Thanks, Breedlove!"
