👀This ultimately depends on your goal and the time of your pre workout meal. Simple carbohydrates are great for 30 minutes to an hour before a workout as they provide the body with fast acting glucose as fuel. .

💪🏼However, complex carbohydrates also play a role within your energy metabolism. By consuming low GI carbohydrates around 2-3 hours before a workout, you can give your body a slow releasing source of energy. This means you’ll be able to work out for longer and be less likely to crash and burn in the middle of your training.

Monday I will have completed 4 weeks of the elimination phase of the low FODMAP Diet. I had originally planned 3 weeks elimination but after even worse symptoms the first 1.5 weeks I needed longer to basically start over. I am not "cured" and it was not the magical fix I had hoped for but I am starting to feel better overall now. My symptoms are much less overall and my constant distention is gone except some bloating here and there still. My eczema has not improved and I've actually developed a new patch. 
I need help from fellow FODMAPers: should I start reintroduction next week? I am now feeling very comfortable and content with the diet actually and terrified to have symptoms return. There's also still a few things I want to test out such as still different types of milks with my coffee as this is still the worse time of day for me and I actually got pretty severe burning, pain and distention a few times this week. (I'm in denial it could be the acidic coffee! ❤️☕️) I think it could be the lactaid milk although it should be tolerated-I was using soy milk for years and minimal dairy for a while. 
My rational mind knows I can always return to elimination when needed and it is important to start adding more variety back in, plus I want to enjoy eating out in a little over 1 month on vacation and feel more comfortable again. Advice please! 
On another note, besides the coffee dilemma, my other biggest worry was switching up my daily breakfast to low FODMAP. I have found my new regular and now will likely just stick with it- quinoa batch cooked for the week in lactaid (still would like a better alternative) vanilla extract and cinnamon topped with fresh berries and @goodmix_superfoods blend 11 to help feed the good bacteria and #healthegut #healtheguthealthebody #lowfodmap #lowfodmapdiet #lowfodmapfood #lowfodmapfood #ibd #gastrointestinal #guthealth #guthealing #whatadietitianeats

Heaped a hot socca with all my favourite greens for lunch with my new obsession: roasted preserved lemons. As well as being a great probiotic for the gut, they go all caramel-ly when roasted but are still super sour which I love. On top of the socca I put a sprout and tahini slaw, more sprouts roasted with garlic, preserved lemon and kale plus some rogue broad beans I podded from the freezer.

Right now is the time we all make the dreaded swimsuit decision... Are we going to wear the cover up OR are we going to get our bodies summer ready? Are we going to sit on the sidelines again OR get up and be comfortable in our own skin? 
I can tell you from experience I've spent many pool days missing out. Sitting on the sidelines, watching my kids play. I didn't want to remove my cover up. I refused to get in the pool. I was embarassed and ashamed that I had let myself go. 
I'm always a work in progress and will continue to work on being the healthiest version of me. I don't do diets or meal replacements. I simply supplement and make better choices. I have daughters watching me. I set the example, and that is the single most important thing I can do for their confidence. What are you teaching your daughters? Will they too sit on the sidelines?

Oranges are well known to be a great source of vitamin C – 1 large orange contains ~100mg. It is often thought that having large amounts of vitamin C will boost your immune system and prevent you from getting sick.

A preventative effect from colds is seen in athletes and people who undergo extreme physical stress regularly when consuming 200mg or more of vitamin C per day – the occurrence of colds can be reduced by as much as 50%! For the general population, having ~200mg or more of vitamin C per day has not been shown to reduce the risk of getting a cold; however, it may help to reduce the length and severity of symptoms if you have already caught a cold.

If teachers can't teach your child, then ask them kindly to find a way to teach your child differently. If you can, move schools or consider homeschooling. Tell them you love them every day. Find the good in them. See their talents. Let them run and climb trees. Love them some more. Don't spend time and money seeing experts who don't understand your child or even what it's like to have ADHD. Google all the amazing people on the planet who have ADHD and realise you have been chosen to parent this child; you will only be given what you can handle. Help them shine their light so brightly, that it dims all the negativity of the people that didn't believe in them. F the system, shine your light. Amen ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This has been a staple of my nutrition since I was introduced to it during my younger days, growing up in the aloha state of Hawaii - Kim Chee. Healthy, nutritious, and one of my prime ingredients in the maintenance of my gut microbiome diversity (gut health). This week I received my DEXA scan results and they showed that I have Osteopenia in my hips. This means that my bone mineral density (BMD) is lower than normal for my age, but not low enough to diagnose osteoporosis. As I’m now on a gluten free diet my BMD should naturally increase to normal, however the doctor suggested that I ensure I’m getting my recommended daily intake of calcium and vitamin D. What’s everyone’s favourite calcium or vitamin D rich food? Smoked Oak Salt Sardine Zoodles
...sounds complicated - right?
OMG - this took me under 5 minutes to make.

I'm not the only one in LOVE ♥️ swipe to see my backyard friends dining alfresco.

1. Yes, I bought the fresh zucchini zoodles for oodles of $ but I get two great uber healthy meals and save tons of time. And it's still much cheaper than eating out. 👍🏼 if you've got the time to make your own zoodles then the cost isn't even a factor - zucchini is cheap and cooks much faster than pasta.
2. Smoked salt is definitely worth a try. I used just 1/2 a teaspoon and sautéed the zoodles with pre-sliced mushrooms (frozen cook longer) and olive oil for about 5 minutes. The smoked salt added this almost bacon-like earthy flavor.
3. Pop open a ton of sardines and serve. Pesto would also go nicely on top or as is 😋

So finally this excellent product has not only made it to the UK but to Suffolk and more importantly WOODBRIDGE 🏠  I first discovered KOMBUCHA in a mason jar complete with the Scoby mother culture in my family’s fridge in Eastern Australia 🇦🇺 Being a true Brit, I was sceptical at first, only to have my mind blown.
