🇮🇳 If you've ever had #Indian food, then the flat bread battle is PRETTY DAMN MEANINGFUL. As both of these flatbread are staples not only in Indian cuisine, but also #middleeastern cuisine (they got the naan game on LOCK).
Quick experiment: visit either #India or #pakistan and tell me if the vast majority COUNT #CALORIES OR #MACROS . It's only existent among college kids looking up to #bollywood
Actors or athletes. It can be good/bad depending on context. Good start tho.
So on the left we have roti; made from whole wheat flour. And on the right we have naan; made of refined white flour.
Quick disclaimers: ROTI in pan is made with OIL, the same way pancakes use oil to "grease" the pan. But the calorie count above ⬆️ doesn't account of it. Also, YOGURT is commonly mixed in with the NAAN dough.
This post highlights the #calories#macros#protein and #fiber . Both flatbreads can be incorperated depending YOUR OVERALL caloric needs. Typically these breads are eaten WITH a vegetable/meat gravy (curry). Knowing this, GI response will vary.
Quick food facts:
☝️The Glycimic index measures the speed at which food raised blood sugar (glucose). This is relative to white bread (refined starch) or a glucose solution. ☝️Naan contains less fiber, more starch (refined flour), and fat (yogurt) per gram. -Naan is higher in the glycemic index.👌This is CLUTCH for endurance athletes #postworkout and for two a day workouts. 👏Roti contains MORE #fiber and MORE #protein . 👏Roti has lower impact on the rise and fall of blood sugar. Delivering a steady, more even blood sugar response.
✊ If your a real housewife of #dehli then a couple roti's (filled with protein and fiber) could fuel your long day of household chores 😉
EVER HAD ROTI OR NAAN?
