Over 56 BILLION farm animals per year have their throats slit for beef, milk, pork, eggs, and the list goes on. Animals are bred into a life of captivity, so that people can drink their breastmilk and eat their flesh. This is not only bad for your health, as our bodies are made for plant based diets, but it's also bad for the enviornment. It takes 1,600 gallons of water to produce 1lb of beef, and much more grain is used for breeding. In America alone, the amount of grain that is grown for cattle could be used to feed every single hungry person. Instead, it is used to fatten up animals so that their bodies can be used for meat, eggs, and dairy that not only causes suffering for the animals, but is harming our bodies. The proof?
1. The number 1 killer, heart disease, has been proven to be caused by eating animal products. The high cholesterol levels found in animal products causes cancer, heart disease, and many other illnesses that lead to death.
2. We do not have the same nutritional needs as a baby cow. Just like all other mammals, cows produce milk only after giving birth to a calf. Cows milk has natural chemicals in it that causes the 60lb calf to turn into a 700lb cow. Their nutritional needs are much different than ours, and if cows milk really was made for humans, why does it come from cows, who can only produce THEIR milk after giving birth to THEIR babies?
The amount of suffering and torture that animals go through so that humans can use their bodies is unnecessary, cruel, and harmful to the consumers and the environment.
Ask yourself, is it really worth it?

A few days ago I got a nut milk bag. The main reason why I got it is because I want to make juice without having to buy a juicer (juices are really healing). The first time I used it I ended up making almond milk though. Rarely there is a situation where I want to use milk, but if I do - I will go the home made one now. Almond milk, oat milk, hemp seed milk, cashew milk - there are so many options, all are made in just 5 minutes and super healthy.
There is absolutely NO reason to buy milk from an animal. Actually there are only reasons against it. Not only is it bad for our environment and cruel for the animals (of course), but it's also unhealthy for ourself. We all grew up drinking milk and eating cheese as something normal, without even thinking about it. We've been told that it's healthy, that we need the calcium and that it's just natural for us.
But actually it's not natural at all. It's not natural to drink milk in our adulthood from another species. It's also not natural to keep animals in cages and take their child so that we can use the milk which is (obviously) not made for us. Also it's interesting to see that the more milk products a country consumes, the more people suffer from osteoporosis. And the reason why so many people can't give it up is because of a substance called casomorphin which is making us addicted. There are also so many diseases resulting from the consumption of animal products - all could be avoid.
Please don't close your eyes. Please educate yourself. Not consuming milk products is not as hard as you might think. //// documentaries recommendations:

E estamos junt@s nessa!
Contem com a gente :) #govegan
***Dinner*** Creamy butternut squash, sage and spinach pasta. This was adapted from a recipe I saw on the @cookieandkate website and it was deeeeeeelicious and a hit with an adult (that’s me), a toddler and a 7.5month old. So happy we’re now at the stage where we can all pretty much eat the same thing, or at least a variation of it. Makes life SO much easier.
Kfta a traditional Kurdish meal veganised by my mother😍 (the filling is the same as the traditional one except she replaced the mince with vegetables) it tasted even better😍 btw my brother and dad are also vegan💪🏼🙏🏼♥️ so families dinner are vegan nowadays🌱
YES, YES, YES. I proudly foster for our county’s shelter. Many of these “kill shelters” get bashed for doing what they have to do given limited support and resources, but they’re still providing a service that is absolutely necessary. Are they perfect? Nope. However, if you’re upset with what happens at your local shelter or any other rescue, get involved! Adopt, donate, volunteer, become a foster, help with TNR. Nothing will change without OUR action. ❤️

Should we support “kill shelters”? In my new video, I explain the different kinds of shelters and how they operate, including how open admission/limited admission shelters work, and I share why we shouldn’t hate shelters—we should shower them with support and help. 👇🏼The benefits of eating turmeric👇🏼
Turmeric is anti-inflammatory and chemoprotective (cancer-protecting). Chemoprotective agents are divided into groups, based on the stage of cancer development they target - carcinogen blockers and antioxidants prevent the initial triggering of DNA mutation, antiproliferatives prevent tumors from growing in size and spreading. Turmeric is special in that it has been shown to exert effects from each of these 3 groups, at least in the lab.
To see if the turmeric we eat is actually absorbed and exerts an effect in our body, researchers commanded some participants in a study to eat turmeric for a week, some participants to eat other spices for a week, and some not to. They then dripped the plasma (liquid part of the blood) onto white blood cells that had been exposed to oxidized cholesterol (as they would after someone has had a nice meaty meal), as this would cause an inflammatory response (as it would in the blood vessels). They then measured the amount of tumor necrosis factor (TNF - an inflammatory cytokine released by white blood cells) released, as a measure of inflammation.
The blood from those that had eaten turmeric daily was able to significantly dampen the inflammatory response.
The great thing about turmeric is that is hardly has a flavor - so add it to curries, oats (like I’ve done in the picture above), soups etc. 💛

Trying to get my house cleaned, garage organized plus keep a very active *and mobile* baby safe today 😂 soooo I was really tempted to have food delivered. Instead I decided to just make whatever this is instead. Potatoes, spinach, #FieldRoast sausage, and garlic. It’s not like I was planning to order healthy food anyway 🤦🏻♀️

The sun is shining brightly today. I'm trying so hard to come to terms with your absence. I've finally stopped txting and calling your phone with the hopes that you would somehow answer me back and say you were ok but that you just needed to rest. I wanted SO BADLY just to hear you say that it wasn't true and we will see each other soon. But it IS true you are gone and I am here and it feels so heavy! I miss our talks and your beautiful voice. Last summer I had plans to fly to the Islands but due to lack of finaces I was unable to make it and I AM SO ANGRY! And you wanted to make me your special vegan chocolate bars and send them to me but my sense of taste and smell is severely distorted due to illness so I tolf you to wait! Now I'll never get to taste them or ANYTHING that you make!!!!! We were both in to New age but as I began to grow my relationship with The Lord I shared that with you. You were not sure at first but you always graciously listened. And I began praying for you. Then that first time you were in hospital you told me about a preacher you watched on tv and you really liked him. We would send and share sermons wh each other. You still were not sure about being saved but in your last txt last month ( its still saved to my phone!) You asked me to pray for you and said you needed Jesus. And boy did I pray! Idk what happend before you passed sweet girl but I have to believe you accepted the Lord as your savior! You always called me your vegan soul sister. We had so much In common. Our love for music and the 70's and 80's and we are both professed anglophiles. You had such am angelic singing voice! I want to believe we are now not only vegan sisters but sisters in Christ! Dear sweet friend you were so young and so full of life! You had soo much love and you gave it freely! You are missed and my heart is sore and I can't hide my tears anymore! I LOVE YOU SWEET NATALIA! TY FOR THE LOVE AND JOY YOU GAVE TO ME! YOU WILL NEVER EVER BE FORGOTTEN! ♥♡♥
It’s #WorldWaterDay and if there is anytime to be aware of what is happening to our water sources, it’s NOW •80% of water going back into our oceans and rivers are untreated •Cape Town, South Africa is set to be the first major city to run out of water, this July •Water covers nearly 71% of the earths surface •5min showers use up to 25 gallons of water •It takes 924 gallons of water to produce 2lbs of rice •The longest a human can go without water is a week 💧We need water to do EVERYTHING, so it amazes me that we are so negligent with this precious source. We pollute our oceans, lakes and rivers with plastics and chemicals. We take baths and run the water while we wash dishes and brush our teeth and expect it will never stop. Nearly 2.5 billion people in this world lack access to proper sanitation. I work very hard to be mindful of my water use and remember that running and clean water is a luxury. We must make changes. We need to stop trashing our most precious resource and start treating it as such. Be mindful today and tomorrow and spread the world to help make the world better as we move forward world 🗺 #thepineappleblonde
