Happy Friday everyone! 👐👐 I hope you all get some nice weather and make some time to get outside this weekend. Here's another one from the community to give you some inspiration. If you have a story to share, reach out to me via DM. ⛰🏕👍

👉Bio: My name is Matt, I'm from Seattle, I've been immersed in the outdoors my entire life. I climbed my first real mountain, Mount Adams - 12,280ft, at 10 years old. I've traveled all over the country to most of the National Parks, but the Pacific Northwest is near and dear to my heart. Being in the outdoors gives me a break from the daily stress and noise of the work as it lets me relax in the environment and with the people that I enjoy most. I picked up photography because I love sharing my stories. I've been a PNW native for the last 12 years and know so many of those local secrets that outsiders never get to experience unless someone were to give them a road map of how to get there. A picture for me is that road map.⠀
👉About This Photo: This is a short and very easy hike called Artist Point and it is accessible all year as long as the road is plowed to the Mount Baker Ski Resort. It's a 4 mile round-trip hike/snowshoe that gains a little over 1,000ft. It's worth every ounce of effort as you're greeted by Mt. Shuksan, Mt. Baker, and the rest of the North Cascades. On this particular day there was not a cloud in the sky and over 2ft of fresh powder that was dropped the night before.⠀

This whole week my mind has been all over the place!
The lack of sleep 💤 due to my little ones not feeling good!
Trying to keep up with the daily house chores and raising six 👧🏻👧🏼👦🏼👦🏻👦🏼🧑🏼kids pretty much on my own has left me feeling defeated 😕
The struggle is real for me when trying to find some sore of balance in my life!
The boys 2/4 are out of control 1/4 is a lovely back talking teen and well the other boy has actually really been trying to behave and listen! So high fives to him! #favoftheweek 😆 Jokes!
I have Zero help when it comes to the boys! Yet am expected to give them all my attention 🙄 positive attention 24/7 that is! Easy for you to say!
Well, positive attention comes with good behaviour! Wanna act like a little shit! Well, then you will get a negative reaction!! Then last night Mr. Angry 😤 tells me that I should have the girls bathed before he gets home from work, as it’s his time to shower 🚿 kinda understand, but when you get home anywhere between 7-10pm well you can then #kissmyass and #gotocamp
I don’t even enjoy being home anymore, especially on weekends!
I am disrespected by boys! They do shitty jobs on their chores, go into your room and steal all the snacks that you have already had to hide because of this! Put a lock 🔐 on your door! They break in!
Hide the girls snacks in the fridge, they find and eat ALL of it! Not just one, the whole fucking thing!
Gah!! No matter how hard I try to change myself to being a more positive person, I am constantly getting shitted on and disrespected!
Nothing I do is right!
So maybe I should just run off with my GirlZ and Wyatt!

The House of the Gathering 2 night New Year Karma Retreat, January 12-14, 2018, is already filling up!
The new year is an ideal time for self-exploration. Join us for the 1st annual New Year Karma Retreat in the northwoods of Minnesota. Let go of old habits and ways of being in a tranquil setting while learning and growing in community. We use the book “The 11 Karmic Spaces: Choosing Freedom from the Patterns that Bind You” by Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati, as a guide to explore how to find joy and contentment in our relationships and our lives (purchase or reading of the book is not required for this retreat). KARMA: the thoughts, emotions, and actions that have become a pattern in your being. We find that those patterns become our trap. There are 11 specific ways that ego traps us, called "karmic spaces" because they are where the mind habitually flees. They represent cycles of repetition and reinforcement of karma: Jealousy, Anger, Pride, Indifference, Desire To Be Right, Attachment, to name a few. By cultivating gentle self-awareness, practice, and good community, we can unravel those patterns. Join us!
