Amazing family dinner @suninndedham. I had the roast cauliflower risotto which was so creamy and delicious and gluten free of course. Paired with a classic New Zealand Sauvignon blanc 😍 Heavenly and I highly recommend giving it a try.
Hands up whose favourite meal is brunch? Like, I love it so much I might just eat brunch all weekend for every meal 😂 throwing it back to this epic brunch at @thefriendsofours in London with the fantastic @refrainfromthegrain ❤️ belly pork, cider hollandaise, apple, fried potatoes, perfectly poached eggs - this was so different to my usual brunch of choice but I loved it! 🙌🏼
Possibly the best brunch ever from the Breakfast Club in Brighton! Although a lot of their options weren’t Gluten Free, they swapped anything that wasn’t for avocado, spinach, peppers & extra mushrooms so I’m not complaining 🍳☕️
Tilapia, beans, quinoa, 🥦, 🍅, 🥑, and hot sauce got me slaying the #burritobowl game. With #lent well underway, I’m trying to do more #pescatarian days in addition to the traditional every Friday #meatfree . Do you have a fave #veg / #vegan#dinner ? 💁🏻♀️💁🏻♀️. I could use some inspo so please comment below! 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻
Happy St. Paddy’s Day! Here’s a green smoothie for the occasion:
• 1.5 cups filtered water
• 1 cup frozen mango
• 1 medium sized banana

• 1 Tbsp lemon juice
• 1 scoop @vitalproteins collagen peptides • 1 handful baby spinach • 1 Tbsp @manitobaharvest hemp hearts
Blend and enjoy!!!
Is eating 'gluten free' a load of shite if you don't need to?
Obviously, there are people who need to avoid certain food groups for medical reasons, and then there are the people that just enjoy spending an extra £3 on a loaf of 'gluten-free' bread for the fucking sake of it. Unfortunately, consumers are associating 'free from' with a natural form of health in general and this is not always the case.
Why is it that all of a sudden everyone and their granny has a gluten intolerance? Here are a few reasons:
1. Wheat grain has been altered to provide crops that are more resistant to drought and bake more easily. Our stomachs, however, have not adapted as quickly to these changes. We are shit.
2. We are eating more wheat products now than ever before.
Damaged gut flora or if you wanna be posh 'dysbiosis' is also on the rise due to the high usage of antibiotics or consuming food that they can’t digest. The immune system may see the undigested gluten particles are a microbial invader and attack them like bitches.
3. Our constant use of diets has led to vitamin-deficient people. They interfere with the body’s ability to suppress immune cells. These diets suppress the body’s immune system from attacking gluten particles.
Then there's genetics, but fuck getting into that!!!! Anyway, eating a gluten-free diet is fucking expensive! It is higher in calories. If you compare equivalent foods that are gluten-free as opposed to gluten-containing, there are more calories generally. It's also higher in sodium. It's also low in fiber, lacks calcium, iron, and certain B group vitamins.
In the long run, we're worse off by avoiding gluten if we don't need to.
Love you, bye x
Happy St. Pat's too all of you lovely people! I'm starting my day off *not* with green beer 😂 which is very much a thing in these parts, but with this intense-but-delicious (and naturally green) nutrient bomb. .
Super-Vitamin K-Immunity-Antioxidant-Low Sulfur Smoothie (too long?)
In a high speed blender combine:
1 cup of parsley, packed
5 stems of celery
1 tbsp wheatgrass
Juice of one lemon
2 inches of ginger
1 tsp of ACV (optional)
16 oz water (or more, if you need to water it down a bit 😁 ).
Seriously, this thing is no joke. I basically flew out of the house and out-ran Pablo this morning, which is practically impossible. Great for digestion, and packing tons of goodness. Add a bit of raw honey if it's too much, um, acidity for ya. But I just chug it and gogogo. .
Some health benefits of this smoothie:
Parsley is a vitamin rich (especially vitamin K) and natural diuretic which helps to relieve bloating, and it’s an excellent source of flavonoids. It’s known to have antibacterial and antifungal properties, which makes it a great choice if you have a systemic infection of any kind. It’s also going to help get everything moving in a regular direction, if you know what I mean. You’ll notice a theme.
Ginger is known to aid digestion and reduce nausea, and many use it to fight viruses. It’s anti-inflammatory and has antioxidant properties. The anti-inflammatory properties have shown to reduce muscle and arthritis pain in studies.
A good source of vitamin K and many antioxidants and enzymes. Also, it smells good.
Another one full of antioxidants with anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. High in fiber and good for digestion!
High in Vitamin C and antioxidants! Good for digestion! WOOOOOOOOOOO
Apple Cider Vinegar:
Another addition that is supposed to boost gut health!
