Happy Hump Day! 🐫🐫 Who's ready for the weekend? I'm going gambling 🎲♠️♥️ so if i win big, you'll find me in Tokyo on Monday morning... eating sushi for breakfast 🍣🍣
Where's the first place you'd go?
My wanderlust is getting out of hand. I was looking at flights for my next trip today and was lamenting about how long it’s been since I’ve traveled.
Then I realized I was in Costa Rica a month ago.... ————————
I can’t be the only one with this problem!
This picture looks super cute, but Lulu was actually on Tom's shoulders for this hike because she was terrified about walking. Because #parentfail . 🤦🏻♀️ This girl actually loves to run and on this particular day we were in Joshua Tree National Park in the California desert. Tom and I were a bit worried about rattlesnakes 🐍 and Lulu running too fast and startling one.
So on the drive from Palm Desert to Joshua Tree, we talked a lot about how we can't run on these trails and they're different from the ones at home and mentioned it was because of snakes.
Well...we must have harped on about it a bit too much because we got to the first trail we wanted to hike down and Lulu wouldn't get out of the car because she was so scared of all the snakes she thought were about to get her! Great parenting. 🙄
So then we had to explain the snakes wouldn't get us if we made noise and walked slowly, but she was still scared so we finally got her to get out of the car if she got to ride on Tom's shoulders.
Though I felt bad we scared her...to be honest I was quite happy she was up there safe and sound! Plus our walk didn't last too long because it was June and about 115 billion degrees (or just 115 degrees Fahrenheit but that felt like there was a billion after it!). ☀️☀️☀️ Have you ever accidentally scared your kid about something? 😬
Traveling alone can be intimidating and it is easy to find yourself in the comfort of your hotel room eating a mediocre burger from the downstairs restaurant 😬🤷🏼♀️
But look at what you could be eating instead 🤤👀 These are two meals eaten alone in #houston while I travel for the “day job.”
Here are a few tips:
1. The bar is your friend. Quick service and seating. And likely other singles.
2. Think of it as a date with yourself. Bring a book, catch up on Instagram - there is no judgment because you are your only company.
3. Purchase our “I’m looking for..” product and don’t let excuses like ‘where to go’ get in the way.
