3/15 :: Overheard in Transit :: “I was biking to work around 8am and was stopped at a light. A guy riding a rental bike pulled up next to me. He was riding a bright green competing rideshare, I think it’s called Limebike? In the bike basket was a six pack of beer with one half-finished beer in his hand. With the other hand steadying the bike, he grunted to me, “Hey lady, I’ll race you. If I win, you give me money.” Before I could fire off a polite “no,” he jumped the gun and pedaled through the red light – weaving sluggishly through crossing traffic. A second later, the light turned green, and I was off as well. I passed him before the next intersection. I guess obeying the laws of traffic (and riding without beer) gets you ahead in life.”

Wednesday 3/07 :: Commuters of DC :: For my daily commute, I ride Metro’s Blue Line from Pentagon City to Farragut West. I like riding the escalator up from the platform. It makes me feel taller than everyone else when I’m at the top, a rare moment when you’re 4’11”! - Seema Samudre
