I was so excited after my run on Friday I wanted to see how far I could go up this hill! I ran 7.1km uphill.. (350m elevation) for a total 14.3 km before work on Monday morning ☺️😅 and spent all day feeling like a badass... 👊.
I know this might not be much for some and it might be a lot for others.. and in a few weeks, who knows.. it might not be much to me! I might be able to go far beyond this and on harder terrain.. 🏃🏻♀️🌲🌳 but the point is, RIGHT NOW this is goal smashing 👆☄️💥. This is me improving bit by bit and loving my workouts and running everyday. I’ve done the hard yards, built up my fitness, and now I can just push further each day to see what I can do... ☺️✌️ .

I love looking back to see how far I’ve come.. both physically and mentally.. the first photo was when I was 21 👶🏼 always hiding my arms and it was rare I didn’t wear spanx.. the second was yesterday (28) 👵🏼 I still have little issues with my body but I love my body I’ve worked so hard for it.. there is probably 25kg difference 💪🏼.. but my confidence level is the biggest change 🤓.. #transformation#changeyourlife

This is what training is about guys, to many people in the world are out for themselves, tryna get what they can from others and don’t care about the community around them.
It’s incredibly easy to focus on yourself and forget about others but at the end of the day, on your death bed, who do you want to be?
I know for damn sure I want to be someone who is remembered by my peers as the person who got in the trenches along side them, struggled with them and helped them get to the end, no matter what it is in life.
If it starts in a simple group fitness session so be it. At least it’s a start 💯👍

Finally put some numbers up on the scoreboard...My FIRST Full Power Meet! So much to unpack from Saturday. I learned a lot about my ability to #performunderpressure , to #overcomeadversity , and to just #getitdone .
I almost missed taking my first attempt for #squats . I was the FIRST lifter in Flight C. I was thinking there would be a break between the 2nd and 3rd flight. Definitely wrong. I never wrapped my knees so fast. 😥 it wasn't the best wrap, but it did the job and I got the lift. Still rushed on the 2nd attempt, but I was able to complete the lift. By the 3rd attempt I was much more prepared and had plenty of time to get a good wrap. Thank you @kimmae_summoh for keeping me in the game mentally. I hit a small sticking point, but I was able yo push past it. Definitely a HUGE confidence boost.
For #bench , I wasn't used to #benching on carpet. I usually wear my lifters for bench and I felt like I had good foot pressure, but my foot slid during my 1st and 2nd attempts. I was able to sink my opener, but it cost me my 2nd attempt. I changed shoes to get some better grip and retook my 2nd attempt. #allgood this time.
#deadlifts were interesting. My last warmup was 405lbs. So, I basically took a 120lb jump for my 1st attempt and 1st use of #hookgrip for the day. 😣 Got it with no problems though! Took a small jump on my 2nd attempt as fatigue was setting in. It went up with no problem. Put in my 3rd attempt, but with the urging of #teamperfectform , I ended up increasing it. Apparently it was too conservative. 😅 Glad I did though. It was a fight, but I locked it out!
Overall, I went 8/9.

After a fun-filled weekend celebrating my smoking-hot 🔥husband and eating the best cake ever (thanks @afterthoughtsrestaurant ) it is time to get back into good habits. I HATE riding my spin bike, but am thankful for the opportunity to sweat indoors when it’s snowing out and the opportunity to get my workout in when my kids are sleeping.
