week eleven: plain croissant @ Laugenring German Bakery
surpassed the gym this morn for a sleep in and a pastry for no other reason than it was wednesday 👯 tried my hand at another german bakery if only to undo the bad name from a couple weeks ago 🇧🇪🇧🇪 turns out germans do not like salt in their pastries and i definitely do and im avoiding them all in the future. this one was marginally better with some good oilyness and flake, but needed some cheese or other delight and it could’ve been something special. nein.
Merde! Une mois back en Allemagne and I'm missing les boulangeries de la France terribly. Boulangerie Heitz à Hoenheim (Alsace of course) was a trouvaille. Top quality artisanal bakery totally down to earth.
Don't get me wrong here. I'm very fond of traditional german bakery and consider its diversity unique. Mais 95% de pain sold ici is simply schiisdrack and the acceptable 5% comes along annoyingly pretentious, posh and nose-bleedingly cher here en Francfort.
Kopfertomi! And I even haven't mentioned les Bretzels! Domi noch eamol.

Had the chance to eat at @yalahabakery today for lunch! Swipe back and forth to see why it’s so good and everyone is always talking about this place. It’s been a while since we’ve been out there and I always ask myself why we don’t go more often every time we leave. 😂 It’s literally a #BavarianBakery in the middle of no where, Florida. For lunch, Andrew had their famous chicken salad and German potato salad. The chicken salad has whole cranberries, celery and walnuts. I had a warm ham and cheese crescent and a warm pretzel cheese bun from the bakery side. Oh my gosh, so soft and chewy...you’ll be hooked on their pretzel bread after one bite! The pastries were pretty great, too! Andrew tried a chocolate mousse crescent and I tried the cherry streusel...I mean it is Germany after all. 😂 Of course I also had an obligation to bring home pretzel rolls to enjoy with our grilled hot dogs, pretzel cheese buns to warm up and enjoy whenever along with 2 loaves of their delicious homemade bread...we picked French Onion and Sun-dried Tomato to be exact. If you’ve never been, you are totally missing out on a hidden gem! I’m so sad I forgot to take a picture of the beautiful building. It seriously feels like you are driving in the middle of no where and then all the sudden a German paradise appears out of no where...not joking! It’s called Yalaha Bakery, because it’s in the middle of the town of Yalaha. They have their own little post office, but don’t blink or you might miss it! 😂💕
This week we are featuring our Sunflower Bread, or Sonnenblumenbrot for $3.49 per loaf. Offer valid 3-19-2018 thru 3-25-2108. Limit 2 loaves per customers, per visit. This offer cannot be combined with any other offer or discount.
A German bread made of wheat, rye and barley flours, rye and white sourdoughs and sunflower seeds. The sunflower seeds are both within the bread and on the crust. This is a favorite bread among the health-conscious because of its high protein and fiber content.
Savory, hearty bread, with a nutty taste from the high amount of sunflower seeds. Nutty aroma.
This bread goes well with just about anything: ham, cheese, jams, or just some butter. It also tastes great toasted - which brings out the nutty aroma from the sunflower seeds.
wheat flour, rye flour, water, natural rye sourdough, natural white sourdough, yeast, malted rye flour, malted barley flour, salt.
