Food is fuel! 💯Proper nutrition is key to to a healthy lifestyle. I don’t know how many “diets” I’ve done in the past that have failed me because they’re unrealistic. You won’t get the results and the great feeling of being & looking healthy with a magic pill, surgery or starvation! This is so true - when you are feeling your body with variety of good food - making sure you are not cutting any food groups and you are eating for health and not for anything else - it is certainly manifesting positively on your health and how you feel - skin nails and hair appearance massively improve - you sleep better and you get proper quality sleep when you awake energised and excited to start your day. And a lot of the time if nutrition is right - all minor ailments are disappearing completely and you are less likely to develop any serious illness either. In this video Alex performing back squats for his 10 RM (Rep Max) which was 60kg. Testing this allows us to structure his strength phase of his 12 week S&C plan!

Yesterday's session also included  testing Alex's Vo2max with a 1 mile jog test! When Alex is fighting his Vo2max plays a pivotal role in making sure he can perform 100% for the duration of the fight! This is why we will be concentrating on working through different percentages of his Heart rate reserve with his cardio workouts!

There's nothing like that first shake in the morning ☀️ after a cleanse day 👊🏽... (I'm loving our chocolate mint 🍫🍃!)

Yesterday was a Cleanse Day...not a 💩 type of cleanse lol...I helped my system reboot!!! I got rid of toxins, rejuvenated my skin, helped myself have better performance at my rehab exercises (back at it this morning), eliminated the fluff, drops lbs, squashed sugar cravings, and so much more.

 And this morning...

I flooded my body with amazing vitamins, nutrients, carbs, proteins, immune booster  and more.  I'm so thankful that I found something that is easy, convenient, delicious and that I feel good about consuming every single day. 💪🏽🙌🏽🙏🏽

Endurance day. Today 28k at 5:30pk pace.

Weather was a lot better on this run. I had lovely sun the whole route and i felt warm for most of it. A gently breeze now and then gave me a little reminder it was still winter.
•
My legs were fresh and ready. This week the average pace was a little easier to maintain even tho it came out a little quicker overall i’m happy to be with in a couple of seconds of the target pace. Legs and body held up well and fatigue wasn’t an issue until the last k. •
That was down to fuel. I made some great high carb/fat energy snacks to eat on route. I took these at 6,12,18 and 24k. It defiantly helped with energy and fatigue levels. Also Legs are getting used to the distance.

As the legs get used to the distance the recovery becomes easier too. Less stiffness with better mobility. Just a little sore but who isn’t after a good work out! No pain no gain.

This run was followed be a 30min stretch and roller foam session to make sure all muscle tightness was sorted and to stop them seizing up.

All these calories I’m burning means some big eats! Boom. All in all a very lush run. 😁

In the past when I would diet, my mindset was always “do this for __ amount of days, then reward yourself with something you haven’t been able to eat.”
I’ve realized this mindset is wrong in two ways.
First, I should not be thinking about food as good/bad, or forbidden/reward. Thinking about and relating to food this way is really unhealthy. When I would think about food as good or bad, I’d feel really guilty and ashamed whenever I indulged in a “bad” food. Also, by forbidding myself from eating certain foods, I found myself craving them more!
Secondly, by using food as a reward for completing a diet, I always gained back all the weight I had lost. I would actually gain more weight because of binging on the foods that had been forbidden.
With Keto, I’m working to change this mindset. I’m training myself to not see food as good or bad, but on a scale from not very beneficial to my health/very beneficial to my health. Looking at food this way, and not making any foods forbidden, has actually helped my crave non-beneficial foods less. I’ve realized I want my health and fitness goals more!
I still want to reward myself for weeks when I’ve stayed on track with Keto and my goals, but since I’m not using food as a reward, I decided to get some items to pamper myself a little bit!

Technically, we don't yet have a retail section setup at the new office, although the plans are in the works. Our sign isn't even up yet 🤣 but we do get a lot of people swinging by for directions so when Rob dropped by, we were ready to point him in the right direction LOL.

He opened the door, asked "ummm is this Too Fit"? We looked at each other, went "yep". To our surprise Rob was in the right place.

He was searching for nutrition stores in the area and since we're registered on Google as having a retail location, he decided to swing by. We're glad he did!

My latest musings have me calling Bull-Shit on my first impulsive reaction. The EGO is powerful, seductive, and can shake us to our core when we listen or see it as truth. I find it fascinating to continue stepping back and witness my ego and have conversations about the ego. Does this sound familiar?.......

“This hurts. I should be better at this. Look at that girl she is way better than me. But look at that one, at least I look way better than her. Why is it so hot in here? Why is that person breathing so loud? Did someone smoke before coming in here? How rude and disrespectful. What am I gonna have for dinner tonight? What’s in my fridge? I better stop at the store on my way home. I better work a little harder here so I can earn myself a treat. I don’t want to do this lunge - I’m just gonna do some sit ups instead. She’s telling me to move slower, but she doesn’t know me. I can’t do that pose she just told me to do. This girl beside me is so flexible. I bet she has an awesome life. I wish I had an awesome life. I should be way further along in my career. It seems like everybody my age is married with kids and loving their life. What’s wrong with me? Why aren’t I enough? Why is this so much harder for me? Have you ever noticed that the more healthy food you eat, the more healthy food you crave? That’s because your body strives on healthy food 💚 Today I read a post by a nutritionist who said we should take a more relaxed stance to sugar and that eating 4 Jaffa cakes a day is perfectly fine. I’m all about balance and I’m not saying that eating 4 Jaffa cakes a day makes you a bad person. Quite the contrary. I think indulging in the things you enjoy the most from time to time is normal. What I have a problem with is when we fail to make the distinction between what is sensible to eat for fuel and what is ok to indulge in for pleasure. Refined sugar is not a good choice of fuel for your body. Of course people should be allowed to eat as many Jaffa cakes as they want but is that going to make them look & feel their best? No! These foods have been designed for you to crave more of them no matter how much willpower you have to resist. So you have a choice. Either you stick with the Jaffa cakes and you spend your life trying to resist your sugar cravings... or you start eating for optimal fuel and the sugar cravings will subside and you’ll be able to eat whatever you want whenever you want, have more energy, lose any unwanted weight AND indulge in the occasional treat too. That’s because your body strives on healthy food 💚 Today I read a post by a nutritionist who said we should take a more relaxed stance to sugar and that eating 4 Jaffa cakes a day is perfectly fine. I’m all about balance and I’m not saying that eating 4 Jaffa cakes a day makes you a bad person. Quite the contrary. I think indulging in the things you enjoy the most from time to time is normal. What I have a problem with is when we fail to make the distinction between what is sensible to eat for fuel and what is ok to indulge in for pleasure. Refined sugar is not a good choice of fuel for your body. Of course people should be allowed to eat as many Jaffa cakes as they want but is that going to make them look & feel their best? No!
