Aww look at how cute she is omgoossh. We did a little bit of work in the area, tackless. Don't know what to say about it😂 it was a mess but well she did okay I guess. Bella and I also started at rock bottom so I guess Silke and I will be alright too😂❣️laughed my ass of. She really is silly sometimes. Probably why she's named Silke❣️😂
Most farmers I’ve spoken to love working with cattle and I can see why. Like this beautiful Friesian Hereford X, they are so curious and full of personality. The Friesian trait gives good milking and temperament while the Hereford trait brings great beef qualities such as hardiness and good body composition.
Of course do Merel look nice when I look like a weirdo. A little "behind the photo" of the photo I posted yesterday 😂
When you planed to go back out to the stables after eating dinner, but suddenly ended up in front in the tv instead 🙄 oh well😌
So, the vet visited us today.. and the news weren't too good. We think Merel has three problems with her skin at the moment😥
First off, something we think is a little reaction from the shaving. But we decided to take some testes and send to the lab just to be sure it's nothing serious🤓
Second, suddenly just over the night from yesterday has Merel gotten a type of reaction in her neck.. Merel has a lot of small bumps and she doesn't like it when we touch her neck. Because of the pain and swelling did the vet give her some meds the calm everything down😦
Third, the big problem... Merel have had some dumps on her back where the saddle lies. I thought it maybe was some protein bumps or something, but when the vet checked them out today did she notice a tiny wound on one of them. So we now think they may be boils, or at least bumps filled with stuff.. which can be pretty serious. So for a period of time there will be no riding on Merel at all to give her back some time off. 😔 Which aren't a problem really. I'm just scared Merel may need surgery if the bumps on her back doesn't go away..😟 but hopefully aren't surgery needed.. 🙈 at least are Merel's behaviour still normal, and as long as she's acting normal I'm happy.. ❤
Sokjes groeien terug, mok overal weg behalve 1 achterbeen. Maar ook bijna. 👌
How to teach to lay down? For this trick your need patience and do soft, quiet movements. In this position horses can feel helpless because they are prey animals 🦓🦁 That’s why you should both have trust with each other!
Material: soft rope of 3m aprox., whip and horse bridle.
1- Tie one end of the rope to his pastern with a firm knot but easy to undo.
2- On the same side, pass the rest of the rope over his back, letting it fall to the other side.
3- Pass the rope under his belly and take the rest with your hand.
4-Taking the horse with the bridle, press with the rope you have in your hand, stretching softly towards you. He will bend his front leg up. Release pressure. Reward🥕
5-Repeat the exercise, and while you make pressure, introduce small touches with whip. So he will relate the order. Release and reward🥕
6-When he understand this exercise well, we will repeat this but now we will make more pressure so that incentive is to lay down. This is on of the most difficult parts! Always be carefull, patience and do everything softly ✨When he do it rewards a lot!!🥕🍎🍐 7-Repeat this every time you can, settle for little each day, reward and love him a lot❤️ And...how to teach to lay down without ropes, only with the whip or a voice order? This is a secret which is not talked about much...😉
