So Eli really loves hiding his toys in our kitchen drawers... Tonight I caught him walking around with this empty pouch from his snack earlier. I thought for a second he had taken it out of the trash, but remembered I had taken it out already. Then I went in the kitchen and saw an open drawer... this kid took his empty pouch and hid it in the drawer so he could have it for later. What?? 🤷🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ #eliassamuel#babybear#foodhoarder#hegetsitfromthedogs#actslikewedontfeedhim
Daddy and Jack went to the shops earlier for some fresh goods while I was sorting toys! While we are now pretty much snow free in our coastal town / the Bay, the roads in and out of here have been cut off and so deliveries have not been getting through, and when they do the shelves seem to clear in seconds! Daddy managed to get some fruit, vegetables and eggs for the week ahead but had no luck with Jacks plain coconut yoghurt or bread! I doubt Jack will be complaining that daddy found these @coconutcollab treats instead, far preferable I’m sure to my back up plan of making him a batch of sugar free coconut rice pudding for a calcium rich pud!! Even if the pouches are £1 each 😳. Thankfully we have the best part of a loaf of bread in the freezer alongside pancakes and crumpets, we also had spare milk. I always buy new once we open a carton as I hate running out 🙈 I think I might be a bit of a food hoarder, I can’t help but replenish things as we open / use them. The cupboards and fridge-freezer are always well stocked and I often have a spare of the things we use most frequently, especially those with longer life - pasta, rice, grains, cereals, oats, flour, tinned tomatoes, beans and pulses, coconut milk, sauce and spreads, dried fruits and seeds, cheeses, butter/marg, filtered milk, chorizo, yoghurts and creme fraiche. I don’t like running out of things that I know I will use 🙈 We rarely throw food out but we could probably survive for at least a fortnight without doing any shopping at all, it wouldn’t be the healthiest (without fresh veg / fruit), or the most varied, but we wouldn’t go hungry. I can’t begin to imagine how stressful it is for families who wonder where their next meals will come from 😔 #foodhoarder#foodsupplies#organisedmum#mumlife
I haven't done a fridge pic in a while and as I can't seem to stop raiding it today (and it's well stocked) I thought I'd share it with you. Also, I'm procrastinating because I have so many paperwork jobs to do and my brain just won't work. Pottering around cooking takes my mind off the unremitting pain and makes me feel like I have achieved something, even if there are other, more pressing and important jobs that I need to be doing. Living with chronic illness is such a literal pain and I'm trying to be kind to myself and keep the pressure off.
As an aside, nobody will ever starve in this house! 😆
My cobbled up Chinese meal for Chinese New Year last weekend! I had forgotten! 😫 managed to redeem myself with soya chicken, bbq pork with bao buns, stir fried veges, rice and dumplings from @maoandconz (that I found hoarded in my freezer) #chinesenewyear2018#foodhoarder#chinesefood
Ready for vacation!
Don’t mind me digging into these snacks alongside my family who will be enjoying all that @disneyland has to offer! Disney is pretty awesome at accommodating food preference/sensitivity/allergies but I’m even more selective than that, so while my son has a gluten free waffle or monte cristo, I’ll be having these. That’s a little dramatic. I will be eating what I can at all the good places, but will always have these babies to fall back on. . .
