@trout_onthe_fly with a nice brown from last Saturday's aventures on the pumping G 9,700 meg, was not a easy day fishing but an enjoyable weekend cheers mate...
Having trouble seeing fish out on the water? You may need a new pair of sun glasses. Read @jcweeks3's latest post where he breaks down the different options in glasses, from frame to lenses, he give his input on which options work best for different angling situations. •

Look at the paddle on this buck. It was the only photo we got of this beauty. He made a mad dash for it when I lifted him out of the net. One splash of that monster tail and he was gone #steelhead#flyfish#puremichigan#troutporn
Trout/fish are the same in every single place they are found. They all require food and they all need shelter from predators with water to live in... That's it. Nothing more. Nothing less. Anecdotally my experience says varying conditions warrant different techniques but it's not mystical or rocket science. For the most part all that's required is finding fish before they find you and then feeding them a sharp hook.
Hell of a thing watching big fish feeding in clear shallow water.
This fish was nose down in a fast riffle when his tail broke the surface and gave his position away. After crawling into position I was able to tightline him a nymph and watch him turn a foot to his right across stream to enhale it. No jumps or big runs he pulled me downstream towards a submerged tree that ran across the river. I knew if he made the tree he'd get wrapped and be gone so I ran below and jumped in the river as to push him back up into the run above. After some additional tug-of-war across skinny water to the next run above I reached down into the cold clear mountain water and tailed what was to be my first NZ Brown. 🎣
This is why I wear @toniceyewear glasses. The second picture shows one fish under the willlows. The third picture is taken through my Tonic lenses, clearly showing the second fish in the top right corner. That's the fish I ended up landing after spooking the first. Not a bad second chance. #flyfish#trout#catchandrelease#toniceyewear#tieyourown#glassisnotdead
Looking forward to use this Steelhead candy! 😉 Tied on Hook H118 in size 6, with Stonefly Nymph Buds and Backs in Gray color, Black Stonefly Nymph Legs, Black Hare Plus UV Dubbing all by Hemingway's, black wire for ribbing, black goose biots for tail, moose mane for antennae.
Denna har det vært en del artig med de siste par sesongan. merkelig nok under svært ulike forhold - både som hitch og vanlig tube. Ja å på krok til og med :) Jeg lager hull mellom kroppen og hodet for å bruke den som hitch.

June; Scottish Highland River Thurso; Beat 8; low water; liced and fresh as paint; stunning specimen.
The fish was quite fresh too 😂
No one deserved a fish more than Brian, he was in absolute agony all week.
But for 5 minutes, the pain subsided.
Hope you’re well along the road to recovery Brian.
Happy memories 😊
