How many times I started an exercise program for a week then binged on food all weekend long and forgot about the exercise?

Legday triset! 😇 Reverse lunge pulses, elevated dumbbell deadlifts swaying the dumbbells in a controlled motion forward gives the hamstrings more of a stretch... try it! Last one was weighted kneeling squats, squeezing the booty at the top of the movement! 🍑
“You don’t look like you have an eating disorder.”
Arguably one of the worst things that can be said to someone suffering. Eating disorders do not have a “look.” Every body and every person’s experience with their eating disorder is different. Comparing one body to another can make someone believe that if they don’t look sick they don’t really have a problem or need help. Even worse, someone can justify or normalize their eating disorder behaviors because if they don’t look sick then they rationalize that the behaviors are not an issue or detrimental to their health.
Just because someone doesn’t look “sick” (which is completely subjective anyway) does NOT make their experience any less valid and real.
Yesterday was a tough day. Today was worse. I am emotionally drained and I feel lost. I’ve come to find that it is 100% possible to feel unbelievable joy and complete despair at the exact same time. There is so so SO much good in my life. So much to be grateful for. But I am not perfect. I am still grieving. And I am still allowed to hurt. I think this week has been the hardest week since I’ve lost my mom. Just a random week in February? Maybe. But maybe there has been so much new discovery and opened doors of opportunity in the last week that when the rush of excitement settled, the emptiness found its way into my heart.💜 I just want to call my mom. It’s that simple. I know that I CAN’T call her. But I still WANT to. I need to tell her about how in love I am with my new career already. I need to tell her how I started training Jiu Jitsu and I finally felt like I belonged somewhere. I need to tell her Hendrix is discovering new talents and hobbies...that he’s a mad scientist with a love for art and music from her era. I need advice. I need help to get through this. I need her. ——————————————————————————
I’m currently watching the sun set, here in Kansas City...and tomorrow morning, I will watch it rise again on my way to work. I am grateful that every day is a new one and that we all have the ability to make amends and start over as soon as our feet hit the floor in the morning. And that is what I am going to do. That is my choice. So after an hour and a half of some intense hot yoga, I am off to an early bedtime and I will try again tomorrow. I would appreciate positive vibes and loving energy sent my way, if you have time on this beautiful Sunday.💗
