Advantage GRP is the indigenous team behind the restoration of some of Canada's most historic sites including this old fur trading post. Kihciwâskâhikan (“the great house") or York Factory is also Canada's oldest structure built on permafrost.
An honour to weave together the historical context of this structure and how the team strategized to bring it back to life.
Read about what it was like to work in one of the only areas where polar, grizzly and black bears interact, the science of drying paint in frigid temperatures and why the team considers York Factory a "living museum piece."
