Spring Fever- I came across these two lovebirds hanging outside of a shelter I found a shed at late in the year a couple years back. I’ve revisited this spot a couple times and today it paid off.

Kayaking Utilas beautiful mangroves while on Survey for reptiles a few days ago! Mangroves are so important for the island, trapping sediment and creating land, purifying water, protecting houses and the people of Utila from hurricanes and storms, providing a nursery for fish so our coral reefs can thrive and providing habitat and homes for a huge number of Utilas animals including our Critically endangered utila spiny tailed iguana found nowhere else in the entire world! Without mangroves there would be no Utila! Make sure to protect them, and don’t cut them down. Thank you to @thevenueutila for always being so supportive for our research and providing fantastic ecotourism for the island! #loveutila#mangrove#kayaking#explore#honduras#bayislands#iguana#ecologia#ecology#kanahau#roatan#guanaja#research#fieldherping#wildlife#womanscientist#wildlifebiologist
