#lotusmudra the lotus flower opens to the sun (the divine principle) and accepts whatever it needs. It opens itself to the abundance the universe offers to all of us. The lotus symbolises spiritual growth and the ability to rise above obstacles. Today symbolises my growth, feeling grateful for all that crosses my path and what is to come #loveandkindness thank you @wib_yoga for being by my side through it all 🤸🏼♀️🧘♀️

Letting the sun warm my tummy.
...And talking about bellies - which is the abdominal cavity that is surrounded by elastic fibres on all sides - Here some of the points I've learned about breathing, just as promised on the post before:
Breathing is not sucking in oxygen, it is creating space for oxygen to enter the lungs and vice versa changing the shape of the thoracic and abdominal cavities to expel air from the lungs. There are many types of diaphragmatic shape changes because we have three diaphragms, the pelvic, respiratory and vocal. All working together with accessory muscles like the external and internal obliques or the innermost intercostals, just to mention a few of the vast amount of muscles working together to make it easy for oxygen to access or expel.
When we exercise with long, deep, slow breaths like #yogavinyasa calls for, the vocal diaphragm is opened very little. It also takes the same shape when we whisper. In yoga, this diapharagmatic position is called #ujjayi . The valve of ujjayi creates a kind of backpressure throughout the abdominal and thoracic cavities. This pressure can protect the spine during the long, slow flexion and extension movements. It creates more #sthira or stability in the body protecting it from injury by redistributing mechanical stress.
So, my head understands it...and I can control it at #wheelpose for example, but when it comes to #presshandstand my diaphragma is full of ¿?¿?¿?¿? ^^'
So I guess I'll keep on learning and practicing to change my thoracic and abdominal shapes ^^

Every kind thing you do to yourself is selflove. No matter if you go for a walk, shower, make yourself a nice meal, brush your hair or take a nap. All this acts are acts of selflove. This means it doesn’t matter if you do something on purpose, it is nice if you do so, but you don’t have to. It is like loving someone else. If you love someone you do nice things for them all the time, most of the time without even noticing, just because you love. I guess it is the same with selflove.

#throwback to Italy last year.
It's always so humbling to see a bit of history. To see how far we have come, to know where we are now, and towards where we want to be. Learn from the mistakes of the past, but dont get caught up on them. Take notice of what is going on now and implement strategies to make yourself, and the world around you, better. #staypresent
Good morning everyone!!! Bby backbend steps 😅 💙
Oh Yoga... such a journey! Every time it feels better. This week my practice has changed. I have no guidelines... I just flow and I'm more confortable with some movements. The funny thing: I thought I was flexible and I thought I wad strong... then I found yoga. Or yoga found me?🤷🏼
Actually, I thing yoga was chasing me long time ago 😆 but I was kinda deaf and obstinate. Not only about yoga, but many other aspects in my life. Now I'm becoming really flexible and strong and I'm not talking about the physical.. 🕉️

🙏🏻 interpreted "jewel in the lotus”meaning that in dependence on the practice of a path which is an indivisible union of method and wisdom, you can transform your impure body, speech, and mind into the pure exalted body, speech, and mind of a Buddha. 🌺 @allyoucanyoga
