This is our third ‘Meet the winemaker series’ and this particular one has truly amplified to us how incredible the people are behind the wines within Geographe.
In order to make these series of questions possible we need to reach out to the owners, the vignerons and the winemakers - like Simon of Harvey River Estate (previous) and now gorgeous Katharine Williams of Crooked Brook Wines, we have fortuitously caught these wine producers at their busiest time! Some might argue the most stressful time-Vintage!
But you wouldn’t know with our cool crew....Upon speaking to Kath she was organizing her children, off to university- whilst simultaneously organizing a harvest for THAT night.
Crooked Brook wines are as lovely as the family behind the label- the vineyard is tended to with love and care by all members of the family at different times by Alex and Kath- and also Alex’s parents. It’s families like these that make our region so special!
What amazes us here at Geographe Wine Show is the sheer passion these produces are showing at their busiest time- fatigued due to long hours and toiling round the clock, we believe this is testament to their enthusiasm and commitment to quality wine in Western Australia.
We are very grateful for the energy we are getting from our amazing producers and everyone agrees #vintage2018 Is going to be the best yet!
Welcome to Crooked brook Wines, part of the picturesque Geographe Wine Region. .
Here Ian answers one of our questions.
Question: what inspires you daily in the pursuit of excellence in Wine production? .
Answer: our inspiration comes from working in the stunning Crooked Brook, Geographe Region and the ability of the vineyard to express the unique characteristics of the land or ‘terroir’ of the region.
Our grapes are grown in the rich red loam soil of Crooked Brooks single vineyard.
It’s like you can taste the beauty of the landscape, fresh cut grass, peach and honeydew. melon flavors come through in our Chardonnay and berry and plum flavors come through in the Shiraz.
For the first time ever we will be bottling some of our wines on a Saturday this year. We would love to have anyone come by and see this amazing process for themselves since we usually only do this during the week.
Check out the link in our bio for more information! 🍷🙌🏻

Our Organic & Vegan Prosecco has been awarded many 🥇 medals. It distinguishes itself through its complex and varied bouquet & its wonderful freshness. These characteristics are given by the stony #winelands where the grapes 🍇 are grown. With our #winemaking process we try to transfer the best of the grapes to our wines. #LAJARAwinery
