Wonderful day at the FamilySearch Center! Misty can this afternoon and Sister Treasure was helping her with a family brick wall ♥️ Misty and I are 4th cousins 🙌 When Clint got home he brought the boys to see me. They were super excited to be “forced” to come 😂 Brennan entered in Georg Ericsson’s daughters. It was fun! Derek had fun finding Mo Sweden on a map. He will be a good research helper! #lovethiswork#familyhistory#familysearchcenter#friends#sweden#momofboys#familiesareforever
Went to the iconic Cardrona Hotel near Wanaka today and found out that my great-great uncle owned it for nearly 40 years from 1927 til the early 1960s. There’s even a big painting of him on the wall. My grandparents went to parties there when they were dating. No sealed roads back then - truly “the wild south”. Cool that such an amazing and iconic building is part of my own family history. .
Making a gallery wall and shadow box for my mom so all our family history doesn’t have to be stored in boxes! ❤️ just a few of the things I’ve found: letters, documents, purses, tintypes, pictures, knifes, clothes, jewelry, pins, war metals, spoon, pocket watches, hair (lots of hair..), keys, locks and so much more from the 1800’s to early 1900’s! Let’s just say I’ve been on a little history high 😜
My mom sent this pic today. Grandma Mughie and Grandpa Tullie getting hitched. Miss these amazing peeps. My grandma was a true southern bell and we were very close. My grandpa died when I was in elementary school but one thing I remember is he would sunbath naked in our back yard 🤜🤛lol. #family#familyhistory#tbt

Based on old alumni notes articles about my great grandfather Burke (my middle name) dug up online and @googlemaps, I think this is the house my grandma grew up in? Before she took the train east for college, met my grandfather, and created the life that I knew her in. It’s great to have chanced in Tulsa today for a project I’m working on and begin to explore these family roots that have always so intrigued me. I knocked on the door but no one was home; maybe I’ll send a postcard.🌳 #brick#familyhistory#roots#fieldnotes / #tulsa#oklahoma
There was a place I wanted to see in Taipei. A place that was once my grandmother's elementary school. She and her parents moved to Taipei during WW2 to avoid bombing and thanks to that, I am writing this post. So thank you Ximen for hosting them :) #familyhistory#Taiwan
Day 23 #old#genealogyphotoaday#genealogy#familyhistory .. The oldest of the family memorials found so far. Howland in Kent.. Amazing to have found them in such good condition as all other memorials i have looked at in kent have been very badly worn or damaged.
Let’s do a really big #TBT to 1909! This is my grandfather, Ray Vance Odom, at about 1 year old in Checotah, OK (statehood happened in 1907). This is a postcard his mother, Kia, sent to his aunt, Angie Odom, who was living in Ft. Cobb, OK.
Having a wonderful time connecting with a distant relative in the USA. We are connected via this chap my 3rd great grandfather, Sam Grant (1842-1930) who was the blacksmith in a small village on the Northamptonshire/Oxfordshire border. My new friend remembers talk of my great grandfather and his two daughters- my grandmother and her sister! This morning she put some family artefacts in the post for me. She is the loveliest lady! I found her through a comment she left on a forum 13 years ago and emailed her just in case she got it! She replied immediately. It’s the best thing ever. Hurrah for the Internet! I hope Sam is pleased to see his progeny connecting with each other. #familyhistory
This ones for my cousin @emilysmithcannell I believe that is you on Peggy Baker’s shoulders! Other folks: Leah, Carla, Granny Smith, Murray Jr and the guy in the back next to Devon would be me! lol. #awkwardphase#familyhistory
"Having ALL my photos digitized and on my phone, all the time, lets me spend more time looking through them all, and seeing the resemblances between family members, like my grandson and his great-grandfather. 10,000 photos on my phone now take up less space than CandyCrush, and are a lot more fun to spend time looking at." #tbt Allow me to introduce my 3x great grandmother, Priscilla Warren Jackson. Priscilla was born around 1853 in Louisiana. The earliest record I have of her is the 1870 U.S. Census which places her in Bolivar County, Mississippi where she married Meredith Jackson and lived life until her death in 1923. This picture and one I have of her husband are the only two photos I have for any 3x great grandparent. So thankful one of my paternal cousins was willing to share. 👵🏾 #family#photo#ancestor#genealogy#myhistory#familyhistory#ancestry#roots#origins#mothership
